The Power of Friendship

I am thankful for the number of friends who have made our transition a little less difficult these past few days. Solomon was right when he wrote about the power of friendship. While I have had a number of friendships over the years, from high school companions to neighbors, I have to confess the best friends are the ones who are associated through ministry. There is something about serving the cause of Christ together that makes a friendship more meaningful. Tonight I was reminded once again how valuable friends are in our life.

My challenge today is be grateful for your friends. Spend time with them, listen to them and thank God for creating us with the need to be in relationship with other people. Since the beginning of time, God knew it was not good for us to live in isolation. Relationships are the bond and glue that hold us together when we face adversity. Solomon reminded his readers of the danger of living in isolation when he wrote the book of Ecclesiastes.

I hope you appreciate your friends, I can tell you I appreciate mine more and more every day.
