Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Great day of worship this morning, Chris you are indeed multi-talented.
  • Jim did a great job reminding us our ministry is to believers, but our mission is to the world!
  • Remember you are an ambassador for the King; what an incredible privilege!
  • Listen, the night is coming
  • Passionate preaching is evident; Jim preaches with great passion.
  • I have had a couple of teaching opportunities this past week that have truly energized me.
  • Congrats to the Florida Christian College men's basketball team, they are regional champions, on to Nationals.
  • I had dinner with a church growth consultant this past week, it is truly exciting to hear what happens when churches finally understand their mission and pursue it with reckless abandonment.
  • Something to Chew on; From this morning's message ~ The first recorded words of Jesus,"I must be about my Father's business", the last recorded words on the cross, "It is finished"

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts From an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with the church family at First Christian Church of Inverness today, fellowship dinner followed the worship service; Just so you know there are some good cooks in Inverness!
  • This morning I preached on the topic; Making ripples!
  • Making ripples does not just happen, it takes a commitment  to a cause if you are going to have an impact on someone's life.
  • The ultimate ripple maker had to be Jesus.
  • Are you making a ripple in someone's life today? The answer is yeas, but the more important question today; Are you making a positive ripple in the life of others?
  • There is nothing like preaching that both terrifies and inspires me at the same time.
  • One of my good friend's grandson was baptized this morning! Way to go Larry and Hunter!
  • Saw an old friend at a gas station this evening, that I have not seen in almost 7 years, you never know when you will reconnect with someone.
  • Just wondering, how many people are injured filming a spot on America's Funniest Videos?
  • Something to Chew on; If you're not daring to believe God for the impossible, you're sleeping through some of the best parts of your Christian life. ~ Steven Furtick

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Great message on evangelism today!
  • Two methods of evangelism; Spontaneous and Planned.
  • Who are you talking to about the "Good News"?
  • Evangelism does not "just happen", we must be proactive if we are to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
  • I was amazed at the confidence a couple displayed this week as they said good bye to their son. It is true we do not grieve like people who have no hope!
  • Reflecting on 30 years of ministry this week; God has been amazing.
  • Reading a lot of Dave Ramsey lately - His wisdom is needed drastically today!
  • Discipline is the key to many things in this life. Unfortunately we live in a culture that wants no discipline.
  • My daughter sent in her college application this past week, seems like yesterday, we were bringing her home from the hospital as a new born. Listen; Don't Blink!
  • I am speaking to a group of young preachers on Thursday - I am pumped!
  • Something to Chew on; The goal of a leader isn't to keep people happy, but to keep people moving, which often times makes them not happy! ~ Perry Noble

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • What a great game! While I am sadden by the fact the 2011-2012 football season is over, it truly went out with a great game and a fantastic finish.
  • Jim did a great job this morning on the topic of evangelism!
  • Remember it is the call of every Christian to take every opportunity to share Christ.
  • I am afraid many of us have forgotten our call!
  • I believe there are two reasons why we fail to evangelize; We focus on minor things and we forget people are lost without Christ.
  • Jim's illustration regarding the hospital wards as it relates to despair and life was dead on!
  • The most effective method of evangelism is still "Come and See"
  • Today I received some of the best news regarding a health situation that I have heard in a long time; just saying God is able!
  • Also my good friend in Melbourne is having a remarkable recovery - God is Good!
  • This past week, I witnessed a variety of churches doing a variety of things that continue to bring honor to God.
  • One of my favorite churches just pledged $181,000 toward world missions in 2012!
  • One of the kids in my last youth group turned 30 this week, how can that be?
  •  Something to Chew on; The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur." Vince Lombardi
