Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with the church family of FCC Orange Park this morning. Great message from John 21 regarding loving God and loving others.
  • I wonder how we would answer if Jesus asked us the question he asked Peter from John 21; Do you love me more than THESE?
  • What are the "These" in your life?
  • Christmas break is almost over, students return next weekend.
  • 2 Games + 7 points = No playoffs for the Dolphins! The wait until next year mantra is getting old.
  • The Osborne Lights at Disney Hollywood Studios is pretty impressive!
  • Does your home look empty with all of the Christmas decorations taken down?
  • After a 5 weeks of being off the road on Sundays, the road trips begin again. Looking forward to seeing what God is doing around the state in our churches.
  • I wonder how the "Great Movie Ride" at Disney translates to people from other countries?
  • Have you heard about the "Empty Shelf Challenge" for 2014?
  • Something to Chew on; “The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year, but rather that we should have a new soul.”  ~ G.K. Chesterton

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts From an Amazing Day...

  • Great message on hope this morning. Yes, Jim it is true the world will always offer a poor substitute for what God offers.
  • I really miss preaching during the Christmas season, so many great teaching points from the Word, the music, and the application!
  • Heard one of the best offering meditations I have heard in a long time today!
  • I really love the new arrangement of Joy to the World - Thank you Chris Tomlin.
  • The University is really quiet this week, everyone has gone home for Christmas break.
  • 3 more days!
  • Congratulations to Canoe Creek Christian Church in St. Cloud, they celebrated worship in their new building today!
  • This verse really spoke to me this week.
  • One of the great things about worshiping at FCC Kissimmee, is the number of JUFL alumni who show up from time to to time to worship with us.
  • I find it interesting TOLERANCE is not a two way street.
  • How can the Dolphins play with such heart last week and have so little passion this week - good bye playoffs.
  • I saw some incredible acts of generosity this past week, God's people doing God's work is always inspiring.
  • Once again Bob Russell's writings remind us why Jesus is the answer to our problems.
  • Something to Chew on; The key question in life is who you think you are. In addition to asking the question of who you are, a question that should follow is, who are you becoming? ~ David Kraft

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Great time at FCC Kissimmee today. Great message on the strength we have from Christ.
  • It is comforting to know we are not able to live on our own strength, however we serve One who is our strength!
  • Had a wonderful time at my family's annual Christmas party in Jax. So proud of our heritage! We are leaving a legacy.
  • Looking forward to the Candlelight Processional at Epcot tomorrow evening.
  • Friday was a day of surprises! Thank you Johnson University family!
  • Another college coach succumbs to the "What have you done for me lately" syndrome. From what I saw, Mack Brown was a man of character and integrity, I guess that is not enough in today's college football arena.
  • There are only 8 shopping days left!
  • Great lesson on disagreements from Bob Russell, this is a must read.
  • Looking forward to Tuesday evening with the university staff.
  • Turning 55 this week - this is staggering for me to think about.
  • Something to Chew on; A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Nobody lives long enough to make them all himself ~ John Maxwell.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Great day of worship at FCC Kissimmee today, this morning's focus - JOY! Great message and Great worship!
  • Take away, the world tries to find happiness for a season, but God offers us joy all year!
  • I really like Chris Tomlin's arrangement of Joy to the World!
  • Things are about to wrap up for Christmas - RU Ready?
  • Wonderful time at Night Of Noel Concert Friday evening, so much work, so many volunteers - What a great night.
  • The Hallelujah Chorus is one of the most moving pieces of music ever written.
  • Well it looks like we are going to have a great National Championship Game in College Football this year.
  • I would have loved watching Alabama play Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl. I think that would have been a great game as well.
  • After seeing the level of talent this past weekend in College Football, the Gators are really going to have to step it up!
  • Are the Dolphins toying with us or are they really making a playoff run?
  • Something to Chew on; Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. ~ Jesus, John 16:24

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at my home church today, FCC Kissimmee. Great message on the Christmas Gift.
  • One takeaway from worship this morning was the idea of the wise men's visit - the first gift they offered was not the gold, myrrh and frankincense, the first gift they offered was their worship!
  • It is easy to blame the stores for opening on Thanksgiving Day, but we must ask ourselves do we really NEED to march to the Malls on that day?
  • Hey Jim, thank you for the encouraging words this morning - I really appreciated your sincerity!
  • Loved having the family over for Thanksgiving day - we are blessed.
  • Interesting quote from Dave Ramsey's twitter  this week; If your household income is over 34K per year you are in the top 1% of income earners in the world. That really puts things in perspective.
  • Well the college season is wrapping up, but what an incredible day - 1 second can change everything!
  • Saddened for the gators season, hope the off-season brings a time of reflection and renewed commitment.
  • Reading several posts  on Facebook lately regarding urban legends - please check out your source before you post!
  • Things I am looking forward to this month; Night of Noel at JUFL Campus, Staff Christmas Party, my family Christmas party in Jacksonville and of course Christmas with my granddaughter.
  • Something to Chew on; Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the the brightest gems in a useful life. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
