Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts From an Amazing Day...

  • Wonderful Day of Worship with the Capri Christian Church in Naples.
  • Great message on servant-hood this morning.
  • Quote from the message; after spending three years with Jesus, how could the disciples not be servants? If someone spent 3 years with you, what traits would they pick up from your life?
  • The church in Naples is stepping out in faith through missions giving and campus expansion. Excited to be with them today.
  • Traveled home via the "Back roads"of Florida - great landscape and loved the scenic drive. It is amazing how much we miss driving on the intestate.
  • Could there be a new #1 this week in College Hoops? Wonder who it could be?
  • Attended a conference this week where the speaker posed the following questions; do we love our traditions more than our kids?
  • I also learned another interesting fact In America, we now have more smart phones in than toilets. The implications to that fact are disturbing to me.
  • The power of prayer is so evident in the situations I have experienced over the past few weeks.
  • Something to Chew on; Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. ~ T. S. Eliot

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with the church family at Vero Christian Church this morning.
  • Great expository message from Acts 9 by their minster.
  • Loved the idea of being a second banana. Wonder how the kingdom has been impacted by men and women who chose to be second?
  • Vero Christian is one of those churches that embraced CFBC in the early years and it has served them well.
  • Looks like the Gators are giving us something to cheer about in college hoops!
  • Why are gas prices going up again!
  • How can the weekend be over so quickly?
  • Really appreciated the opportunity to lead the Giving Church seminar last week. Blessed by the "Kingdom Mentality" of the presenters.
  • One of my favorite worship leaders is moving to Iowa this week, Josh I want to thank you for ministering to my family.
  • So proud of my children. They are growing up to be fine adults.
  • It looks like winter may be over in Florida, Hallelujah!
  • Listening to " Principles that Guide my Life" by John Maxwell again, some leadership principles are TIMELESS!
  • Something to Chew on; No enterprise can exist for itself alone. It ministers to some great need, it performs some great service, not for itself, but for others; or failing therein it ceases to be profitable and ceases to exists. ~ Calvin Coolidge

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts From an Amazing Day...

  • Two-fer day! Worshiped at Christian Church at Deleon Springs this morning and then attended the dedication of a new building at Northside Christian Church Lakeland in the afternoon.
  • Two different churches, two different ministry approaches, yet God is working in both places.
  • Andy's message was great this morning at CCDS, really inspiring!
  • Staggering Stat from this morning's message; in America today there are 42 million children and teens, 62% have never been to church! Youth Ministers, Please don't give up, your job is too great!
  • Did I mentioned I traveled with several JUFL students this morning as well? They did a great job leading worship at the second service.
  • Here is a comment I heard in worship this morning, "We are going to sing an old song, I think this one goes back to 2009." I guess an old song is based on your perspective!
  • As I spoke this morning, I began to think about the start of CFBC - The men and women who laid the foundation and the first students were real pioneers. So glad to be a part of a PIONEERING SPIRIT!
  • Yesterday I witnessed the power of mentoring kids as four former students ministered to my son and daughter in law - You guys ROCKED!
  • How can the weekend be over so quickly?
  • One week without football, UGH!!
  • The last two weeks we have received XM Radio for free - There is a lot of great music on the MESSAGE!
  • Congratulations to my friends Scott and Lori celebrating 20 years of ministry in South Florida this week.
  • Something to Chew on; The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say yes. ~ Tony Blair

  • Football is over now comes the long wait until preseason - wait a minute, March Madness is just around the corner!
  • Jonathan and Megan moved this weekend - going to miss them being so close!
  • I am so thankful for signs of progress, congratulations Brianne on your 15 foot journey - We are praying for you!
  • When the Star Spangled Banner is done right it is very moving; Thank You NFL you got it right this year!
  • I really wanted a better game tonight.
  • Hard to believe Advertisers paid $4,000,000 for a 30 second commercial this year. BTW I thought most of the commercials were duds.
  • Something to Chew on; "Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out." ~ John Wooden
