Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with the Ocala Christian Church family today.
  • Focus of the message was from "The Story, Paul's last days"
  • How do you want people to remember you? Check out this section of scripture for a clue from Paul's life.
  • Connected with several alumni at the church as well!
  • I really enjoy worshiping with this group of believers, they are so genuine and honest with their faith.
  • I also was able to witness a commissioning service service today for a young couple headed to the mission field - what a blessing!
  • Their commissioning service reminded me of my ordination 33 years ago - what memories!
  • One of my favorite memories of Memorial Day will take place tomorrow in Ironton Ohio. What a parade!
  • Over the last few days, the words from the Florida Christian College school song  have a deeper meaning to me -  "Where-so-ever we may scatter, Through-out all the world."
  • Something to Chew on; If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. ~ John Quincy Adams

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Inverness today.
  • The church is on the right track as it continues to reach out into the community of Inverness.
  • Great mix of worship music today. Both modern and traditional.
  • I don't think I will ever get over the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15.
  • The topic today's message becoming people of the "Second Chance"
  • If you could have a second chance today what would you do differently?
  • We received a good report this week from the oncologist, but we still have a long way to go! Thank you prayer warriors!
  • One thing I have noticed since Kathy was diagnosed with cancer, I hear more stories every day of cancer survivors and people who are fighting cancer. Key lesson - everyone has a story.
  • Attending a commissioning service next week, so glad to be a part of what God is doing in this young lady's life!
  • I could never participate in the Amazing Race, just saying!
  • 4 Teams left in the NBA Playoffs - I can't believe they are still playing.
  • Something to Chew on; "Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." ~ Winston Churchill

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached twice at FCC Seminole this morning. Great time of worship. Two completely different worship styles, but both services really moved the worshipers.
  • Headed out this morning at 6 am, but driving across Tampa Bay was worth it!
  • Focus of the message this morning - What else - Mother's day!
  • If you have a chance to view the video "Mom Goggles" from sermonspice.com do it, great video on seeing life from a mom's perspective.
  • Amazing fact I learned in prepping for this message, 1.7 billion dollars is spent on flowers for mother's day. I wonder what was the percentage of flowers purchased this morning, just curious.
  • Message focused on the OT heroine Hannah. Main points, Hannah prayed for her child, Hannah promised her child and Hannah provided for her child.
  • NFL draft was this weekend - it is getting closer!
  • Chemo side effects not as serious this go around, thank you for the prayers on Kathy's behalf.
  • Students have been gone for a week, eerie silence on campus.
  • Can you believe the NBA playoffs are still going on?
  • Something to Chew on, No man is poor who has a godly mother ~ Abraham Lincoln

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Great worship at FCC Kissimmee today, powerful message on the suffering and problems we face.
  • Here is a great verse from today's message.
  • Wonderful graduation Friday night at Johnson University Florida.
  • So proud of my son Jonathan graduating with his associate's degree.
  • As exciting as it was to watch our graduates walk across the stage Friday evening was bitter sweet - I will miss these guys!
  • Sitting in the audience at graduation brought back memories of my graduation from CFBC, in some ways 1981 seems like a long time ago and in other ways it feels like yesterday.
  • All of our family was at our our house this weekend - good times!
  • Bracing for another round of chemo this week - please pray for Kathy!
  • I am looking forward to this day more and more, oh that it could be tomorrow.
  • I find it interesting a network can spend almost 3 hours talking about a race lasting less than 2 minutes.
  • 1/3 of the year is in the books - how are you doing on the New Year's resolutions?
  • Something to Chew on, As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God,  the Maker of all things. Ecclesiastes 11:5
