Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with my home church today; FCC Kissimmee.
  • Great message on building on a firm foundation.
  • Worship was very good as well.
  • It is always good to worship at FCCK - so much encouragement!
  • Shifting Sand or Rocks - you need to decide what will be your foundation.
  • We are heading to Kathy's final chemo this week! 18 weeks have gone by so fast!
  • TV News is depressing - come quickly Lord Jesus!
  • Quote from "The Me I want to Be" by John Ortberg; God's plan is not just for us to be saved by grace - it is for us to live by grace. I enjoy Ortberg's writing more and more.
  • First wave of students arrive Friday, summer is almost over.
  • I received an invitation to preach at Englewood CC in Jacksonville at their annual homecoming in October - I am really looking forward to be there.
  • What does this article say about the future of preachers and the local church?
  • I keep hearing story after story about great things happening at Church camps this summer - Kinda makes me want to get back into youth ministry - Silly me, what am I thinking!
  • When does a person start to think about his/her legacy?
  • Something to Chew on; For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. ~ Ephesians 2:10

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Sebastian Christian Church this morning.
  • Todd did a wonderful job speaking on the subject of Baptism.
  • Great illustration of wiping the slate clean!
  • The message was followed by 2 baptisms - watching the baptismal waters stir NEVER gets old!
  • Spent the weekend with some good friends in Sebastian, The town of Sebastian has some of the best produce markets in all the land!
  • Ministry friendships are precious.
  • I am trying to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. There is a lot of "Stuff" happening in people's lives.
  • Once again I was reminded this weekend how much pets play such a key role in our life.
  • I must be getting old - not too many good movies playing this summer in the theater!
  • Celebrated 35 years of marriage with my lovely bride today - been through a lot, but we are still going strong. BTW she is more wonderful today  than she was 35 years ago, and I thought she was awesome then!
  • Love him or Loathe him; Steve Spurrier is a gift to College football!
  • Remember the Polar Vortex? We could really use a cold blast this week - it is H-O-T!
  • There are only 164 days until 2015.
  • Something to Chew On; "A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them." ~ John C. Maxwell. (one of my favorite Maxwell Quotes)

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • What an amazing week; spent the week in Indianapolis at the NACC and then traveled to St. Augustine to worship with the church family at Homeport Christian Church today.
  • Lessons from the NACC - We are a diverse group of believers; there is no one way of reaching the the world for Christ.
  • Today's message focused on the church, not the building, not the organization but the church - the people!
  • Thought from today's message; Only the church gives one an eternal perspective.
  • Said farewell to a wonderful ministry family tonight - Gary and Tammy you will be missed; so thankful our paths have crossed these past 3 years.
  • Final Game in the world cup 1 - 0, still do not understand all of the hype.
  • Another point from today's message - the church gives us a common commitment!
  • Great reception Wednesday evening at the NACC - saw a few friends, amazed how we have traveled so far from the little place on Kaley Ave.
  • Question asked at the senior's banquet at the NACC, do want an adolescent faith or an adult faith?
  • Ben Merold is a gift to the Kingdom!
  • Southwest Airlines have the best snacks - just saying!
  • Something to Chew on; Do we love our traditions more than we love our children? question asked at  the NACC main session Tuesday evening.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Returned to Whitfield CC in Sarasota today. Received a great reception from the people in Sarasota.
  • 2 hours to get to the church, 3 1/2 hours to get home - Long Day!
  • Preached on Luke 10:38-42, The story of Mary and Martha.
  • Faithfulness is not seen in big, large or grandiose acts, but in the little things such as waiting, listening and watching!
  • Martha was distracted by "stuff", however Mary was discerning about the Master.  Which sister describes your life; distracted or discerning?
  • While it is really trite, let's remember to keep the main thing the main thing!
  • Renovations at the campus are really taking shape, so thankful for our plant team, the volunteers and our student workers.
  • Said good bye to one of our employees this week - We will miss you Jim, your new company is really getting a gentleman in you!
  • Heading to the NACC in Indy this week, I really wish Kathy was well enough to go with me. Cancer stinks!
  • I am really excited about this year's roundup at Johnson University Florida, Doc Smith is bring the message in the morning session.
  • Can you believe we are 8, yes 8 weeks from the beginning of College Football.
  • Something to Chew on; It is not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are ~ Roy Disney
