Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...
  • Worshiped at First Christian Church of Babson Park this morning.
  • I had the privilege to speak for their Faith Promise Rally.
  • This small church has surpassed their mission goal every year for the past 6 years!
  • So thankful for their commitment to missions!
  • Today's message focused on the NEED and the ALTERNATIVE to missions. Believe me there is much at stake if we do not feel compelled to give to missions.
  • Remember missions is not always taking the gospel overseas, but it always involves taking the gospel to someone!
  • The world tries to offer hope (a false hope), but the church provides faith!
  • I am curious how low gas prices can go? I am also a cynic and believe we will see them rise again, and there will be more pain at the pump.
  • When I got home from my travels today I realized it is a long time 'til September - #missinthepifskin!
  • Speaking of pigskin - do you believe New England's explanations?
  • I am torn this year; what will be better - the game or the commercials?
  • I admire our men's basketball team at JUFL, Thursday evening they were outnumbered yet they played with class! Character matters! Thank you Shane!
  • Why are we already talking about the 2016 elections?
  • OK, I have to share one election thought tonight; I recently read one political candidate may spend up to 1.6 billion dollars on their presidential campaign. For a job that pays $400,000 - there does not seem to be a lot of Return on Investment!
  • Something to Chew on; The only thing to be rescued from this earth will be people ~ John Maxwell. Question, are you spending time with people or are you gathering things? Just a thought.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Radius Church in Port Orange today.
  • Great time of worship led by alums of Johnson University Florida.
  • Morning message; How to be people of the second chance.
  • When was the last time you received a second chance?
  • Once again experienced unexpected generosity from some long time friends. Thank you Bobby and Patsy!
  • Good news from the Oncologist this past week,., we may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
  • Celebrated my daughter's birthday tonight, All the kids were home, I love it when we have to put the leaf in the table.
  • Four ministers are beginning new ministries this month in Florida churches; praying the new ministries will be long and fruitful!
  • I told you not to underestimate Urban Meyer.
  • Did you notice there were several similarities to Florida's victory over Ohio State in 2006 as Monday Night's Ohio State's victory over Oregon?
  • 100 high school students visited JUFL this past weekend, I hope many of them will choose to make JUFL their college.
  • 2 weeks down commencement will be here before you know it!
  • Once again, we learned a lesson from sports - you gotta finish well!
  • Something to Chew on; Worry does not empty tomorrow of it's sorrow, it empties today of it 's strength. ~ Corrie ten Boom

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today, wonderful message from the first marriage in Genesis 2.
  • Key takeaway - Biblical marriage cannot be accomplished without the power of the Holy Spirit in one's life.
  • Never know who you will meet in church connected with Kathy's cousin this morning in worship.
  • Here is a verse regarding our lifestyle when it comes to marriage - 1 Peter 2:12
  • The football season is quickly fading away only a couple of games left, but they are BIG games!
  • Spoke with some friends this week in Ohio where it was 5 degrees on Wednesday - wow, I do not miss those days!
  • Staff changes coming at FCCK, so happy for Patti P. and Jennifer M. both of these ladies are doing a wonderful job with the children of the church.
  • I would no bet against Urban Meyer tomorrow evening, just saying!
  • From this week's reading - Genesis 19:29, But God listened to Abraham - what a great passage of scripture, Think about it for a moment "God listens to his people."
  • Once again our family is blessed by the friendships we made in ministry 25 years ago. I truly marvel at the fact we intersect with people for a short time, yet we make a difference in their lives even when we do not think we are having an impact.
  • Something to Chew on; People may hear your words, but they will fear your attitude. ~ John Maxwell

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today, great message on the importance of marriage.
  • The church cannot retreat from God's idea of marriage.
  • Jim was right, popular culture has it all wrong.
  • There are men who preach with excitement and there are men who preach with passion, so glad my minister preaches with passion!
  • Great verse for all men to read.
  • If you told me the Gators would be the only Florida team (of the big 3) to win their bowl game this past week I would not have believed you!
  • I do not understand loud mufflers and loud stereos in small cars - maybe it is a sign I am no longer HIP!
  • Witnessed two members of a former church I served "get hitched" this weekend - their lives are an open book, full of excitement and uncertainty, yet they have God and one another - what else do they need?
  • Second semester starts tomorrow - 16 weeks til graduation!
  • Lunch with Great Friends this past weekend. I always leave their home blessed!
  • From today's reading in the one year Bible, In Genesis 9:15 God tells Noah, I will remember my covenant with you -  Remember God is faithful to fulfill his promises.
  • Something to Chew on; As the year comes to an end, don't look back at yesterday's disappointment  look ahead to God's opportunities to unfold. ~ Anonymous
