Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Salt Springs Christian Church this morning.
  • Wonderful group of people, such an encouragement.
  • Special treat this morning, I was able to take three JUFL students with me to lead worship and share why JUFL is making a difference in their lives. Thank you Greg, Chandler & Michael!
  • This week's message focused on this one fact; only transformed people can transform our culture. If there is not a change in us, we will never change the culture.
  • It is so exciting to see so many JUFL students involved in ministry this semester.
  • Kathy's cancer battle begins year 3 this week, She is the toughest woman I know.
  • Question to Kathy; What do you want for Valentine's Day? Her answer, I want to be well! AMEN,
  • Reading a great book this week, Extreme Prayer by Greg Pruett. Subtitle; The impossible prayers God promises to answer.
  • Why is prayer our last resort?
  • This weekend some 700+ teens will invade the JUFL campus for our IMPACT  football tournament, it is going to be a great weekend.
  • Speaking of football, there is only one more football game is left!
  • I read this week the candidates running for president have spent 40 million dollars on TV ads in Iowa prior to their big day Monday, that seems like a lot of money for a job that only pays $400,000 a year!
  • Something to Chew on; Praying in Jesus name means presenting requests that resonate with Jesus' character and advance his plans for the earth ~ Greg Pruett, Extreme Prayer, Page 20

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today.
  • Great message on what it means to live out one's faith in the world from Romans 12.
  • Great illustration and application regarding the Clemson Tigers' football team. Jim is right, if that attitude permeated college football we would see a major difference in sports!
  • This song may be one of my favorite worship songs.
  • Having the family home for the weekend is a real treat.
  • Revelation 21:1-5 means so much to me today.
  • One thing I have learned about dealing with cancer, While there are a lot of things that cry out to be urgent, but there are really very few things that are important - I choose the important!
  • I wonder if young couples really comprehend the vows of for better or worse, in sickness and health.
  • Some phone calls really make your load lighter, Thank you Mrs. Eubanks!
  • Hey, I think we have survived the Florida winter!
  • Images of the soldiers guarding the tomb of the unknowns in the snow storm are powerful.
  • There is something comforting about a large WAWA hot chocolate!
  • My daughter turned 23 last week, say it ain't so!
  • Something to Chew on; Remember George; no man is a failure who has friends ~ Clarence from "It's a wonderful life."

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...
  • Worshiped at Generations Christian Church in Trinity this past weekend.
  • GCC has an amazing outreach ministry in the community and around the world.
  • Greg's message from Acts 23 reminded the congregation we can not be passive as we enter 2016. Great message for all churches to hear.
  • Saturday evening the elders and missions team hosted their mission partners for dinner. I am amazed to hear what is happening through GCC's global ministry.
  • Interesting item I learned this weekend; In Orlando 122 languages are spoken in the city, the world is coming to us!
  • Two phrases that spoke to me this weekend, Found People, Find People! and Saved People, Serve People!
  • Can't prove it, but I believe a noisy church is a growing church!
  • Met several alumni from JUFL this weekend - Good Times
  • So thankful for Kathy's physical therapy nurse, she is doing amazing work for Kathy.
  • 3 young ladies from JUFL came over this weekend and did some house cleaning - we are blessed!
  • Five years ago I left the located ministry, what an adventure the last five years have been for me both personally and professionally.
  • Based on the last five years I really appreciate this verse.
  • I would hate to be a PACKER fan today. Joy and agony in a mere 60 seconds!
  • Looks like winter has arrived in Florida, I hope we can make it though the WEEK!
  • Something to Chew on; Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world. ~ Joel Barker

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at First Christian Church Kissimmee today, Great message from Romans 12:3-8.
  • Jim is right, we should not apologize for asking people to serve, we need to be challenged to serve!
  • From today's message, Only in serving does one find significance!
  • Too many people are looking for success, rather than significance, maybe it is time to reread the book of Ecclesiastes.
  • After being out of church for 2 months, Kathy was able to go to worship this morning! What a thrill!
  • Love being a part of a caring church family.
  • Students are back, second semester starts tomorrow!
  • Hey Cincinnati, you gotta play all 4 quarters!
  • Dolphins have a new coach, have they really had 10 different head coaches since Don Shula retired?
  • Last college football game tomorrow night - I think we should have a moment of silence as we say good bye to another college season!
  • Don't look now, March Madness will be here before you know it!
  • Staggering thought, as of Saturday, if you won  the power-ball lottery, you still could not afford an NFL Franchise!
  • Back on the road next week, and so it begins, "Oh the place I will go in 2016"
  • There is something about eating pancakes at night that is so comforting!
  • I have a good friend in St. Louis who checks up on me each week, so appreciate his concern.
  • Something to Chew On; Excellence is the result of caring more than others think wise, risking more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible. ~ Ronnie Oldham

  • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today, good to be back home with my church family.
  • Excellent message on the importance of becoming a living sacrifice in 2016.
  • Here is a great verse from today's message.
  • Witnessed the baptismal waters stir once again, believe this never gets old!
  • Holidays are over, I am ready to get back into a routine, did not realize how much I am a creature of habit.
  • Well the football season did not end as I had hoped, but I cling to the age old dream, "Wait til next year!"
  • Walks with the granddaughter make me happy.
  • #1 sign you are getting old, you do not recognize the bands playing at the New Year's Eve Rockin' event on TV
  • #2 sign, staying up til midnight is overrated!
  • We are just 13 days away from "National Break your New Year's Resolutions" day. According to one study 75% of Americans break a majority of their resolutions by January 16.
  • Christian friends are precious to us!
  • Cancer tried to steal Christmas, but it failed!
  • A new semester begins in 8 days; hey seniors this is it, only 18 weeks til graduation!
  • I just noticed I will begin my 7th year of blogging soon, my first post was in February 2010, My life has seen a lot of changes since that first post.
