Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Great message regarding having a right heart.
  • When the Heart is right ministry happens.
  • So good to worship this morning with no responsibilities, I left refreshed!
  • Unveiled the plans for our new Commons at JUFL Saturday, The look of 1011 Bill Beck Blvd is going to dramatically change over the next 12 months.
  • Senior Saints at JUFL was a wonderful retreat. I am tired, but it is a good tired.
  • I continue to be humbled by the generosity of God's people.
  • I am preaching on Easter Sunday, I am really looking forward to preaching on the power of the resurrection.
  • Bob's messages to seniors at out Senior Saints event are appropriate for all ages.
  • I am amazed at the number of friends I have gained since my employment at JUFL.
  • So thankful for the many volunteers that made Senior Saints possible.
  • I am also thankful for the faculty and staff of JUFL, the "whatever it takes" attitude is what makes working for the university a special place.
  • Watched a couple of Buzzer Beaters this weekend, I understand why they call it March Madness.
  • I still do not understand the purpose of Daylight Savings Time.
  • Something to Chew on; People underestimate their capacity for change; there is never a right time to do a difficult thing. ~ John Porter

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning, great to be home for a week!
  • Great message on the topic of evangelism.
  • Jim's practical tools can help anyone be evangelistic.
  • Key thought from today's message; Only the ministry of Jesus offers eternal significance.
  • Great worship set this morning, thank you Tony for preparing us for the message.
  • This song should be sung every Easter Sunday, such powerful lyrics!
  • Wonderful time with my kids today celebrating Jonathan's birthday. However, it was bittersweet as Kathy was not with us. Will this hurt ever go away?
  • I have said it before and I will say it again, the loneliness of the weekend can be unsettling.
  • Saw a man bring his wife to church in a wheelchair this morning, I was overcome by a flood of memories.
  • This past week, I celebrated 6 years at Johnson University Florida, so thankful for Bill B. and the opportunity he gave me in inviting me to be a part of the JUFL team. Never in my wildest dreams did I see how my life would change 6 years ago.
  • I am hoping last week's cold snap was winter's last blast, I know I am spoiled, but this Florida boy does not care for temps below 50!
  • Something to Chew on;  For someone grieving, moving forward is the challenge. Because after an extreme loss, you want to go back. ~ Holly Goldberg Sloan, Counting by 7s.

Sunday Night Refelctions

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Christ's Church of Marion County today.
  • The church is celebrating their 10 year anniversary, what a great day of remembering and celebrating!
  • Great time of worship and a very challenging message on the Love of Jesus.
  • Loved the afternoon concert, David, you almost persuaded me to buy a Southern Gospel CD.
  • It truly is exciting to see a church flourish and watch the people give the credit to God!
  • Tough weekend, I had an Aunt who passed away Tuesday and I was asked to officiate her funeral. I made it through it, but I was praying HARD!
  • When my family gets together, there is always joy and a whole bunch of Tisons!
  • Dementia is a terrible disease; it robs you of your memories of the past and steals your joys of the present.
  • This weekend I have driven over 530 miles, I am so tired of looking at life through a windshield.
  • A good friend of mine is leaving youth ministry to work with small groups at his church, why do the good youth ministers have to grow up?
  • Next Sunday, I have an opportunity to worship at my church; Kissimmee Christian Church, really looking forward to being with the KCC family.
  • Next to College Football Bowl season we are now entering the second most wonderful time of the year - March Madness. Get your brackets ready, we are just 3 weeks away from "One Shining Moment"
  • Something to Chew on; He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. ~ John, Revelation 21:4

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Fort Caroline Christian Church this morning on one of my favorite topics - Grace.
  • God was gracious to Jonah and to the city of Ninevah, for no other reason than the fact that God loves people!
  • Jonah's 8-word sermon in Jonah 3:4 changed a city, what 8 words can you say that can change someone?
  • Two keys truths from this morning's message; Grace Wins and Grace Releases.
  • Do you remember how cool it was to have "auto reverse" on your cassette player? The times they are a changin'
  • Randy Alcorn's book HEAVEN gives one a lot to think about.
  • I miss Kathy, it is so hard to believe it has been 10 months.
  • House full of college kids this weekend reminds me of my youth ministry days, the only difference, I have to be in bed by 11:00 and they keep going. Age has a way of sneaking up on you!
  • Was I ever a youth minister? It seems so long ago!
  • So glad for March Madness is just around the corner.
  • I have decided if there are guardian angels they must work overtime on I-95.
  • Something to Chew on; To succeed in life you need three things; a wishbone, a backbone, and a funnybone. ~ Reba McEntyre
