Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at the Christian Church of DeLeon Springs this morning.
  • Spent my time giving a JUFL Update during the Bible School hour.
  • When you are given 40 minutes to give an update on JUFL and you go 55 minutes, you know some good things are happening at the University.
  • When you look back of the history of JUFL, it is obvious God's hand was in the works as they launched the college back in 1975.
  • Attended the memorial service of a special lady this week, I truly will miss Irma's infectious smile!
  • Received word a minister in the state of Florida passed away this week. Praying for his family and the church he led.
  • Seeing my dad in the hospice center is heartbreaking, Dementia is such a ravaging disease.
  • Another friend of mine is in hospice as well.
  • Once again I am reminded earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal!
  • Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
  • The funeral of a believer is a reminder no man is an island, we all have influence.
  • Do you want a to read a good book about the most important part of your existence? Check out this book.
  • Will the construction in Central Florida ever come to an end?
  • Thin Mints are addictive!
  • Something to Chew on; A teardrop on earth summons the King of Heaven. ~ Charles Swindoll

Sunday Night Reflections

Sunday Night Reflections (Monday's Edition)

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at First Christian Church of Babson Park yesterday.
  • Message's focus was on the need for missions from Acts 1:6-10
  • You shall be my witness in Jerusalem, Judea...
  • Question; Where is your Jerusalem?
  • JUFL hosted a Leadership Conference on Saturday, Church Leadership is serious business, if you think you can lead a church by attending weekly worship and attending one elder's meeting a month you are sadly mistaken.
  • My little girl turned 25 this past weekend, where does the time go?
  • Kathy's mom passed away last week, she was such a gracious woman, her reward will be great!
  • Once again I am reminded this world is not our home.
  • Patriots vs Eagles
  • Can anyone stop Mr. Brady?
  • I hope winter is over in Florida.
  • I need to escape to the Beach for a day! Anyone Interested in joining me?
  • Something to Chew on; Five percent of the people think; ten percent, think they think; and eighty-five percent would rather die than think." ~ Thomas Edison

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Union Park Christian Church in Orlando this morning on the subject of the Authority of God's Word.
  • Our culture needs to understand there is no such thing as YOUR truth or MY truth, only THE truth!
  • It does make a difference what you believe.
  • I think preaching should have two main purposes; to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable!
  • Looking forward to teaching at Kissimmee Christian Church and Fairway Christian Church this week, both opportunities energize me.
  • Finished up the book, A Life Beyond Amazing by David Jeremiah this weekend. Great and practical illustrations for my preacher friends. You should pick up a copy.
  • Next book on my 2018 Reading List; Soul Keeping, Caring for the most important part of you by John Ortberg.
  • Cold again - YIKES! I thought this was Florida.
  • Jaguars? Jaguars!!
  • White Chocolate Oreos are gone from the grocery store shelves! Wait, I see it is girl scout cookie season again - happiness returns!
  • Two words; Thin Mints
  • Easter falls on April 1st this year, just wondering if it is appropriate to have April Fool's pranks on Resurrection Sunday. What kind of pranks would you pull on that day?
  • On a cold day like today, Panera Soup rocks!
  • Something to Chew on; Prayer can be compassionate, but compassion requires more than prayer ~ David Jeremiah

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Orange Park today.
  • The senior minister presented a wonderful message from the book of Acts focusing on the beginning of the church.
  • I think it is a good message when the minister brings something fresh to a familiar passage of scripture, that is exactly what Jim did this morning!
  • Key thought from the message; The church is to be a movement.
  • Key thought #2, Through the Holy Spirit, the church has everything it needs to reach the world for Christ.
  • So thankful to the FCC Orange Park for ministering to my parents. (yes, this is the church where they worship)
  • After tomorrow, there will be not be any college football until September.
  • No matter who wins tomorrow night, the SEC will add another championship to their trophy case.
  • I am enjoying reading A Life Beyond Amazing by David Jeremiah, a great study on the Fruit of the Spirit.
  • JUFL students returned to campus this past weekend. We are only 17 weeks away from Graduation!
  • Wow, this past week has been very cold for this Florida boy!
  • I begin a 10-week Bible Study at Kissimmee Christian Church on Wednesday, looking forward to this opportunity!
  • Something to Chew on; Nobody can take your peace from you. If you have lost your peace, you have lost it for one main reason - you have surrendered it. ~ Charles Stanley
