Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Union Park Christian Church in Orlando this morning.
  • Message from Luke 15, focusing on the actions of the loving father.
  • The message was titled people of the second chance, who do you know who needs a second chance today?
  • The message was a constant reminder of the amazing grace of God.
  • When one realizes how amazing God's grace is in our life, one wonders why more people do not run to Him!
  • Sang my favorite hymn today, Holy, Holy Holy. What a vivid picture of heaven!
  • Today's paper was full of football news, O Happy Day!
  • Saw the movie, Christopher Robin, a fun movie with a simple message. What is really important in your life?
  • Why do theaters offer free refills on large popcorn, I cannot finish the first bag and I was sharing the bag with someone!
  • BTW I have a new favorite theater. All I can say is it was Epic!
  • The first week of school a big success, so good to hear stories of internships by our continuing students. Lots of growth opportunities.
  • A popular Coffee House is breaking out Pumpkin Spice on Tuesday, Ah, Too Soon!
  • Something to Chew on; Real contentment must come from within. You and I cannot change or control the world around us, but we can change and control the world within us. ~ Warren Wiersbe

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Canoe Creek Christian Church in St. Cloud this morning.
  • The message focused on the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life especially as it relates to anger.
  • Key thought #1, Anger is an enemy of the heart.
  • Key thought #2, Anger demands repayment, humility seeks relationships.
  • Ross's message was a reminder of the power of the Holy Spirit when it comes to restoring damaged relationships as a result of anger.
  • The students are back at JUFL, is it me or are students getting younger and younger?
  • Fun Fact, this year's new students were all born in the 21st century.
  • When I look at the freshman class, I think Oh the places they will go, if they will follow God's leading over the next 4 years!
  • Let the journey begin!
  • Most political ads are frightening! If everyone running for office is as bad as their opponent says, we are in trouble!
  • Teachers, you have completed one week in the classroom, Good job making a difference.
  • Only 1 week until... Well you know!
  • I must confess, I find rhubarb pie very tasty!
  • If you know an AC Tech give him/her a hug, they are lifesavers this time of year.
  • Something to Chew on;  Treasure your relationships, not your possessions. ~ Anthony D'Angelo

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at First Baptist Church of Orlando and Kissimmee Christian Church this weekend.
  • Challenging message on the Journey of Generosity Saturday evening.
  • The key idea from Saturday's message, Faithfulness in giving allows God to use us in our Journey of Generosity.
  • Both churches prayed for teachers as they return to school this week.
  • Teachers truly have an opportunity to shape their students.
  • If you know a teacher, please lift them up in prayer this week. They really are the unsung heroes of our society.
  • Students return to JUFL this week, looking forward to meeting the class or 2022. Let that sink in for a few minutes, 2022!
  • Do you realize over half of the year is over?
  • 3 things I pray for everyday, My Kids, My Relationships and for Wisdom.
  • Is it just me, or is the traffic in Kissimmee/St. Cloud getting worse?
  • Something to Chew on; A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning. ~ Brad Henry

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Canoe Creek Christian Church in St. Cloud this morning.
  • Powerful message on a very difficult subject, The impact of death on a person's life.
  • The resurrection of Jesus makes it possible for the believer to face death victoriously.
  • When it comes to death we either face a hopeless end or an endless hope.
  • Every time I hear Rend Collective sing Counting Every Blessing on the radio, the volume must go up! What a great song!
  • The first round of students have returned to campus, it is hard to believe I was heading off to college 41 years ago!
  • Is it me or are college students much younger today?
  • Speaking of college, one of my former classmates retired this week, how is that possible?
  • Just finished reading a wonderful book last week, Well Being by Tom Rath. A very practical and insightful book on what it means to live well.
  • Spent the early part of the week in Knoxville at a leadership retreat, great time reconnecting with the Tennessee team.
  • I am noticing more and more stories about football on ESPN this month, can I get an AMEN!
  • Sometimes you just need a good hamburger!
  • Something to Chew on; I have held many things in my hands, and have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands that I still possess. ~ Martin Luther
