Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped in Clermont this morning.
  • The message focused on the power of love as we develop our faith in tough times.
  • The command to love is just that; a command!
  • I attended the legacy service this morning, it is amazing how some of the old hymns bring back precious memories from days gone by.
  • The students have returned to JUFL, it is good to hear all the "chatter" in the halls again.
  • It is always a good day when my kids visit!
  • The power of prayer is an amazing thing, just ask my friend John! God is Good!
  • Pets always take a piece of our heart.
  • Hello September! It looks like college football is just around the corner.
  • Something to Chew on; You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, Because they trust in Him (God). ~ Isaiah 26:3

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshipped in Clermont today, I had the opportunity to see on old friend lead worship this morning.
  • I enjoyed the worship this today at the church's Legacy service, does this mean I am getting old?
  • Although the worship this morning was not about my personal preference, the worship did prepare for us to hear the Word proclaimed!
  • The message came from 1 Peter 5 focusing on perseverance in challenging times.
  • I am not a person who lives in the past, but it sure would be nice to be back on the cruise I led back in January. Such a peaceful time!
  • Attended the funeral of one of my aunts this past week. No sadness here, just celebrating her race is over. Thank you Sharon for being a shining example of a godly woman!
  • Standing in our cemetery Wednesday, I was reminded once again, I have a lot of cousins, A LOT OF COUSINS!
  • After talking with my favorite teacher this week, I am convinced they need our prayers, encouragement, and support! They are making a difference!
  • The students are back.
  • Now if college football returns!, Oh, Happy Day!
  • Last week, I mentioned it is too early for pumpkin spice, but a friend reminded me Ads for pumpkin spice lattes means white fudge Oreos are coming, Can I get an Amen!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Great message this morning on the covenant relationship we have with our Heavenly Father.
  • I am always thankful to listen to preachers who do not gloss over the difficult passages of scripture and are able to bring out solid Biblical truth.
  • It is a comfort to me to know God takes our acts of rebellion and through the Blood of Jesus Christ, we receive His righteousness - Amen!
  • I am so thankful for our Life Group, each Friday night we meet for fellowship, steady and mostly prayer.
  • Our prayer time is a constant reminder that we can not do life alone.
  • I spent the afternoon celebrating my daughter in law's birthday. So thankful Megan is part of our family!
  • I am participating in a family funeral this week. Sharon was a wonderful woman, now she is enjoying her reward; Well Done!
  • Our family's funerals are 1 part funeral and 1 part family reunion!
  • JUFL Students return Friday!
  • What would happen if we went on Social Media fast?
  • When did the posted speed limit become a suggested speed?
  • I heard my first advertisement for Pumpkin Spice Lattes this week - Too Soon!
  • Something. to Chew on; I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen. ~ Ernest Hemingway

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Great day of worship this morning at First Baptist Church of Clermont.
  • I had the opportunity to see a friend lead worship this morning. Thank you, Steve, I  appreciated our time together this morning.
  • Today's message focused on a worry-free living from 1 Peter 5.
  • When it comes to worrying, we need to remember God has everything under control.
  • Do you want to conquer worry? Give all your worries and cares to God for he cares about you (1 Peter 5:7)
  • Many of my teacher friends are headed back to school tomorrow. Not only will they be teaching this year, but many of them will also have the virus issues to deal with as well.
  • Every year, teachers need to be lifted up in prayer, However, this year our teachers need our prayers for wisdom and patience, as they navigate the impact of COVID 19!
  • Our Life Group participated in a field trip this past week. We had a wonderful time laughing, praying, and celebrating the goodness of God!
  • Once again I was reminded there is great joy when you attend the funeral of a believer!
  • The longer I live the more grateful I am for God's Grace!
  • We lost March Madness, please do not let us lose Collge Football!
  • Dinner with Savannah is always enjoyable.
  • Something to Chew on; A teacher affects eternity; they can never tell where their influence stops. ~ Henry B. Adams

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...
  • Preached at Christian Church of Deleon Springs this morning
  • Today's topic, "An Uncommon Place"
  • The message focused on the founding of then CFBC and how God used committed men and women to bring the college into existence.
  • Key Point #1, Small items when given to God make a huge impact.
  • Key Point #2, God takes the common and uses it in uncommon ways.
  • When it is all said and done, will heaven be fuller because of your life and witness?
  • Our small group has met for 12 weeks via Zoom, but I am looking forward to the day when we can meet face to face. Life is supposed to be lived in a community not virtually.
  • My executive assistant is moving to Jacksonville. She has been a wonderful addition to our staff. She will be missed, Thank you, Jessica!
  • While I am happy to hear there are plans for a College Football season, I am disappointed there will be no UF/FSU game this year.
  • Received a phone call from a preacher today and I was reminded once again the need for strong biblical leadership.
  • Three weeks from tomorrow our students begin the Fall semester at JUFL.
  • Things I would put in a time capsule to remind future generation of 2020; A mask, a calendar with all of my canceled events noted,  my march madness bracket (of course it is not filled out!), and a number of takeout menus!
  • Something to Chew on; We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give. ~ Winstone Churchhill
