Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim began a new sermon series from the book of 1 Thessalonians; How Shall We Live?
  • Key Point from the sermon; We must all be aware of our "Calling" to reach people in this world.
  • Jim's illustration of Mark's life reminds us all how we must live for the eternal.
  • Our life group continues to meet virtually, but I miss our times together, the fellowship, the study, and yes, the desserts!
  • College football is back. Saturdays are fun again!
  • The Hallmark Channel kicks off their Christmas movies October 5, why do I need to know this?
  • I am curious, Do you have a mask tan line?
  • Birthday celebrations with friends are always fun!
  • Just once I would like for the traffic lights in St. Cloud to be synced, is that too much to ask?
  • Something to Chew on; Courage is the willingness to act in spite of fear. ~ Michael Hyatt

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • We had the opportunity to hear the Youth Minister preach today.
  • Thank you Lance for your love for Jesus and your love for students. You and your team are doing good work.
  • Rory's communion meditation was a reminder of how God made our salvation possible. Let us never forget, it is all about Jesus.
  • Reminded once again why I am thankful for Heaven today. Faye, you are now experiencing the reward for your labors. Though you were small in size you had a big impact on the lives of many people.
  • By the way, cancer still stinks!
  • Spent Saturday at Disney with one of my kids and Savannah. Good Times!
  • Mickey Mouse Ice Cream sandwiches are the best.
  • I have discovered masks/face coverings are becoming fashion statements!
  • The birthday gift was a hit, thank you, Larry and Daniel, for making it possible.
  • The SEC kicks off next Saturday, FINALLY. Yes, I am ready for some football.
  • While I am a UF fan, UCF is scary. They could make a few teams in the Power 5 uncomfortable.
  • Something to Chew on; Common Sense is not a gift, It's a punishment. Because you have to deal with everyone who does not have it. ~ Anonymous

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Ocala Christian Church this morning on the topic of an Uncommon Place.
  • Key Point #1, Small items placed in God's hands will have a huge impact.
  • Key point #2, God uses common items in uncommon ways.
  • I always enjoy going to OCC, Roger and his team have done a wonderful job reaching people for Jesus.
  • The best thing I like about OCC is how genuine they are in expressing their faith to their community.
  • Wonderful evening last night as JUFL hosted Arron and Andrew in "Let There Be Light", a night of music and message.
  • Arron and Andrew really showed us the importance of words, Thanks, guys!
  • I connected with some CFBC alums this weekend via zoom, it was good to catch up.
  • Oh, the places we have traveled since our college days.
  • I read on Facebook another alum is traveling through the cancer battle. I long for the day when cancer is defeated!
  • I heard this statement in an online sermon this afternoon; God does not always change your circumstances, but God changes you!
  • Over the last 4 weeks, I have heard of 4 of "our churches" closing in Central Florida.
  • So sad to hear of the church closings. I am sure the church members are mourning the closings.
  • ESPN's College GameDay is back!
  • Something to Chew on; When we long for a life without difficulties, remember that oaks grow strong in contrary winds, and diamonds are made under pressure. ~ Peter Marshall.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Attended an online church this morning. The message focused on the Lord's Supper.
  • The key point of the message; the table is not what we deserve, but it is where we belong.
  • The second point to share; The table is always ready and there is room for us all!
  • It is comforting to know Jesus prepared the table for us and we are His invited guest.
  • It might just be me, but our freshman class seems very young.
  • 40 years ago I was part of the senior class of CFBC, it has been an amazing journey AND it is not over yet!
  • This Saturday we are holding our first virtual reunion, it will be good to see so many classmates from years gone by.
  • Question: Do you walk your dog or does your dog walk you? There is a difference.
  • Did you know the college football season started this weekend?
  • Just saying, if you ain't playin' you should not be ranked!
  • This weekend also marks the traditional start of Fall, but it is still hot here!
  • Something to Chew on; There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up. ~ John Holmes
