Sunday Night Reflections

A Few thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Vero Christian Church this morning.
  • Steve preached on Faithfulness in being single. This was probably the best sermon I have ever heard on the subject of Singleness.
  • Unfortunately, it is the only sermon I heard on the topic of Singleness.
  • I can attest in the Christian world it is a "couples world."
  • Most church members do not realize how lonely single life can be.
  • Thank you Steve for addressing this topic and for preaching the "Whole Counsel of God"
  • Attended the funeral of a godly man this past week. Through his influence, Conway's life will live on beyond his 76 years.
  • Like most funerals this one was one part memorial, one part celebration, and one part reunion, so good to see so many people I have not seen in years.
  • Reconciliation is one of God's greatest gifts for His people.
  • Is it possible "I-95" is the speed limit and "70" is the name of the road? There are some crazy fast drivers on the east coast of Florida.
  • Savannah and I have a big day planned this week, yep, we are going to Disney World! Good Times!
  • Pulled into the McDonald's drive-thru tonight and ordered dinner, my drink options were Medium and Large. Should it not be Small and Large? Just a thought!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Wonderful day worshipping at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim's message focused on King David and the greater King to come - Jesus!
  • Jim was right, one day EVERY knee will bow, not as a political statement, but to acknowledge Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
  • I am reading through the book of Exodus this month and I am marveling at the patience of God toward His people. The Children of Israel saw amazing miracles and still when things got a little rough they complained. I think there are times I can be like the Children of Israel. God forgive me when I have a critical or complaining spirit.
  • I had a great time at my niece's wedding this weekend, Congratulations Jake and Kayla!
  • Weddings are a wonderful reminder of the Love God has for his people.
  • Great lunch reconnecting with some friends today! Good times!
  • I saw the publicity for the "Young at Heart Days" at Lake Aurora Camp today, no, it is not a misprint I am the speaker for the day. There was a time I was speaking at youth events and now I am speaking at senior events, The times they are a-changin'.
  • Neighborhood kids are swimming in our community pool, Spring is Here!
  • My brother's surgery has been postponed, COVID strikes again, prayers continued to be appreciated!
  • I am rediscovering "The Far Side" lately, some of Larson's comics make me laugh out loud, and that is a good thing!
  • Something to Chew on; Courage is not having the strength to go on - it si going on when you do not have strength. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Fort Caroline Christian Church in Jacksonville this morning.
  • The message focused on how small items placed in God's hands can make a large impact.
  • I was also able to share some information about Johnson University Florida during the Bible School hour.
  • The church celebrated its annual Faith Promise, pledging over $38,000 for world outreach!
  • Don and the team are doing a wonderful job reaching the Arlington area of Jacksonville. I really enjoyed worshiping with the congregation this morning, FCCC has a special place in my heart, so good to see how God is using this wonderful church family.
  • Traveling home in the rain today made this weekend's trip very stressful.
  • For lunch today we went to a place that has "Big Ol' Fries" on the menu. Any place that has "Big Ol Fries" on its menu is a place worth visiting!
  • You do not have to look very far in our society today to ask a penetrating question; Where have all the good leaders gone?
  • My brother is having surgery this week, prayers for him are greatly appreciated!
  • Well, we are 6 weeks into the new year, how are those new year resolution going?
  • I made it through my first weekend without football this weekend. The struggle is real.
  • My niece is getting married this coming weekend, I am looking forward to celebrating the big day on Saturday.
  • Something to Chew on; Be brave to stand for what you believe in even if you stand alone. ~ Roy T. Bennett

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning as Jim continued his series Life on Mission.
  • Great message showing how Jesus is superior to Moses and why that is important for us as Christ-followers.
  • I am looking to seeing the remodeling of the worship center in the next few weeks.
  • Our Life Group is looking at the dangerous prayers of the Bible. This week we looked at the Prayer of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemene, Not my will, but your will be done!
  • I enjoy football, but a four-hour pregame show is a bit excessive.
  • So far the Super Bowl commercials have been a bust. Where is the creativity?
  • Something to Chew on; Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage. ~ Anais Nin
