Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Union Park Christian Church today.
  • The message focused on the 1st chapter of Jonah.
  • Key Thought #1, God will pursue us to the depths of an ocean to be a part of his divine plan
  • Key Thought #2, As a prophet, Jonah had the king's ear, but no one had the prophet's heart.
  • I had lunch with some long-time friends today, can it really be 40 years? Thank you, George and Becky.
  • What do you do when the thermometer reads 46 degrees? Silly Question, You go to Disney World!
  • You know you are getting the "dad of the year" award when you go to Disney to get an autograph of one of your daughter's favorite artists.
  • Hearing the Voices of Liberty sing The Star Spangled Banner at the American Pavillion at Epcot is probably one of the most moving performances at Disney World.
  • The first month of the Spring Semester is in the books, hey seniors, graduation is just around the corner.
  • Not sure how the second NFL playoff game is going to end tonight, but this afternoon's game was a treat for football fans.
  • Say it slowly; Cincinnati is going to the Super Bowl!
  • BTW the White Chocolate Oreos are a thing of the past, no special treats until November!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at First Christian Church Sun City Center near Ruskin this morning, kicking off their revival.
  • Mike and Teresa are doing a wonderful job ministering in this unique community.
  • The church family at FCC truly enjoys singing!
  • The message was from Luke 19 focusing on the impact Jesus had on the life of Zaccheus.
  • Key Point #1, According to Luke 19:10, Jesus has but one agenda, to seek and save the lost.
  • Key Point #2, when we have the same agenda as Jesus, we will see a change in our cities, much like what happened in Jericho.
  • I experienced a minor miracle today as there was no traffic on I-4 going to and from Sun City Center.
  • Our life group began a new study this week, looking at the lessons we can learn from the Faith Chapter of Hebrews 11.
  • This weekend's playoff games have been fun to watch. As of this post, 3 of the 4 games have been won on the last play of the game. This is why you watch the whole game!
  • I know it happens every year, but these Florida cold snaps remind me why I do not live in the northern part of the U.S.
  • Something to Chew on; Focus on doing the right thing instead of a bunch of things. ~ Mike Krieger

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim did a wonderful job reminding us of our future home - Heaven!
  • The message contained two points; #1, The book of Revelation describes what is and isn't in heaven for believers. #2, Heaven is better than we can imagine and sooner than we think!
  • For every one of us who has experienced loss via death, heaven is a constant reminder God has a prepared place for us! Thanks, Jim for that reminder.
  • We said goodbye to some young missionaries this morning. Praying for the work of Christian, Elisabeth, and Caspian, May god bless your new ministry.
  • Hey teacher friends, it is time to get back to the books. Remember you are making a difference in the lives of so many young people.
  • Only one more College Game left for the 2021 season! It should be a good game.
  • If you ever stop at Buc-ee's be sure to pick us some Beaver Nuggets, trust me they are good.
  • Fireworks, Chihuahuas, and New Year's Eve do not mix.
  • My word for the year is focus.
  • Something to Chew on; At the end of the day, you cannot control the results; you can only control your effort level and your focus. ~ Ben Zobrist
