Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Citrus Ridge Church this morning.
  • The message focused on the need to be the People who give others a Second Chance.
  • People of the Second Chance Wait, Restore, and Celebrate when the prodigal comes home.
  • I had a great time in Michigan this week, cool temperatures but a warm reception.
  • I sat next to two worship leaders on my return flight from Michigan. Great conversations about worship and church culture.
  • I believe the best part of thanksgiving is not the food or the football but being with family. This year I was with my new family as I celebrated with Lori, and part of her family. Good Times!
  • Next Saturday is our Tison Christmas Party in Jacksonville, I look forward to seeing mom, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and possible future Tisons! aka boyfriends and girlfriends who are invited as well.
  • Black Friday came and went and I did not visit a single store. Very Good Times!
  • Tuesday is Giving Tuesday and I would ask if you are reading my blog would you give a gift to Johnson University Florida's Giving Tuesday campaign? I have provided a link for your convenience. Give Tuesday If you can give, I would appreciate your support to help our First Generation Students.
  • Can we have a moment of silence for the end of the Regular Season of College Football?

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Citrus Ridge Church this morning. The message focused on the power words have in one's life.
  • Key Point #1, we all have an opportunity to speak the right words to make a difference in someone's life.
  • Key Point #2, The right word does not take special talent or resources, it only takes the willingness to speak into someone's life.
  • Our small group wrapped up our study of the Good and Beautiful Life and now we are taking a break for the holidays.
  • I wrapped up my study on Ecclesiastes Wednesday night, number 1 goal in teaching the class; spelling the word Ecclesiastes correctly! #thankyouautocorrect
  • It should not take 35+ minutes to get to and from work when you only live 6 miles from work, Just saying!
  • Finally, it is Thanksgiving!
  • Missing my better half!
  • Michigan Bound Tueday.
  • Vanderbilt? Really!
  • Only one game left and then the season is over!
  • Only 3 more weeks left in the semester, this semester has flown by!
  • I am excited about Night of Noel this year, we have few special items for our audiences to enjoy.
  • Something to Chew on; Where there is no hope in the future, there is no power in the present. ~ John Maxwell

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Citrus Ridge Church in Davenport today.
  • The message focused on grace.
  • I have never felt so welcomed as a guest speaker!
  • Following morning worship I headed to Altamonte Springs to officiate at a wedding, Congratulations Zack and Haley, it was a joy to be a part of your special day. Good times!
  • To be honest, it is good to be home tonight! Now for some Oreos and Milk!
  • How can Thanksgiving be only 10 days away? It is time to find my stretchy pants.
  • We will be celebrating Thanksgiving in Michigan this year, I wonder if they have a kid's table?
  • Once again I was reminded of the brevity of life as a former student from my youth ministry days passed away this past week.
  • First, it was Ian, and now Nicole, does anyone else have Hurricane fatigue?
  • Publix Thanksgiving commercials are more heart-wrenching than a Hallmark movie.
  • The Tison family had a big day Saturday, we celebrated David and Savannah's birthdays. It is ALWAYS Good when all my kids are together. Happy Dad!
  • The Fins continue to win!
  • Have the gators turned the corner? I hope so.
  • Something to Chew on; When it comes to focus, you must manage your thought life, and then you can manage your life. ~ John Maxwell

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim preached a great message from Nehemiah 1 and 2, his focus was on the need to pray BOLD prayers.
  • Key thought from the message, if you pray a BOLD prayer, you must be ready to move when God answers the BOLD prayer.
  • His final illustration regarding being ready when God answered the prayer was inspiring!
  • The wonderful thing about Bold prayers is we can all pray bold prayers!
  • Received a text message tonight from a church that has called a new minister based on my recommendation.  One of the great joys of my job is connecting ministers with churches so they can continue to extend the Kingdom of God.
  • Lori traveled to Michigan earlier than planned this week to handle some health needs with her family, prayers are appreciated.
  • This week would have been my dad's 85th birthday, he passed a few years back, I would love to have a conversation with him today.
  • Thank you for the many Oreo Location messages I received this past week, still searching in St. Cloud FL.
  • If you know me you know I enjoy football, and this past weekend was a wonderful weekend to watch some good football!
  • Our students return from ICOM today, I can't wait to hear some of their stories of how the convention impacted their lives.
  • Something to Chew on; Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time. ~ John Maxwell
