Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Englewood Christian Church in Jacksonville this morning for the church's annual Faith Promise Commitment Sunday.
  • I was humbled to stand in the pulpit where several influential preachers have stood!
  • The message focused on the importance of a mission program is to the local church.
  • Healthy Churches have a dynamic missions program.
  • We had a great time on our cruise, 186 people traveled with us and we brought 186 back, I call that a success.
  • Thursday morning's worship service was inspiring, the worship was led by the Christensen family, and the message by Marvin and Larry's thoughts prior to communion made for a meaningful time of worship.
  • The memorial service for Jim was very moving. He will be missed. His was a life well lived!
  • When your wife packs a box of white chocolate Oreos in your cruise luggage you know she gets me!
  • After tonight there will only be 2 left!
  • Thank you Jackie for keeping Lily while we were gone. She really loves you!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim's challenge from the book of Colossians was spot on!
  • I wonder why people settle for a church with no vision and no growth. That is not the case at Kissimmee Christian Church.
  • We witnessed two baptisms this morning, when you understand what is happening in the act of Baptism, you realize seeing a baptism never gets old.
  • Tomorrow I get the honor of leading 186 friends of Johnson University on a 5-day cruise. Good Times.
  • Three words; Unlimited Ice Cream!
  • I am looking forward to being away for a few days and yes, I am taking a John Grisham book!
  • There are only a few more weeks of football left in the season, best enjoy it while we can.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...
  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim's message focused on decision making in light of the Will of God.
  • One must pass three tests to make a decision in light of God's will. Does it pass the Spiritual Test, the Stumbling Test, and the Supreme Test?
  • The baptismal waters were stirred once again, this never gets old!
  • A dear friend passed away this week, So thankful for the gift of heaven.
  • The students are back at JUFL and all is well.
  • I enjoy our Friday Night Life Group.
  • The Fins did better than everyone expected, looking forward to next year.
  • The Jags reminded us to never go to bed early, great win.
  • However, you can go to bed early if you are watching Georgia and they are up by 58!
  • Something to Chew on; If you allow the status quo to persist, you can't expect to improve performance, and you can't expect to win. ~ Jocko Willink, Extreme Ownership

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim's message focused on reflection and recharging.
  • It is evident to everyone listening that God has done some amazing things through Kissimmee Christian Church this past year.
  • Jim's final illustration was compelling, we do not know when our life will end on this earth, so we must be ready.
  • You can hear that illustration along with the entire message by following this link
  • After what we witnessed on MNF last week, there are times all we can do is pray!
  • I am picking UGA to win tomorrow evening.
  • Our life group resumed last week. We are in a 4-week study titled, Jesus Lord of my Personality.
  • Students return to JUFL tomorrow. Hey Seniors, you are almost done!
  • Christmas decorations are all packed up, and the house feels a little empty tonight.
  • And just like that White Chocolate Oreos are gone. WHY?

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim's message focused on Luke 14 and the importance of priorities.
  • Our priorities have eternal significance, so choose wisely.
  • The illustration of last week's baptisms reminds us why it is important to set priorities. Very Powerful!
  • Today begins my 14th year of blogging, that is a lot of reflecting!
  • I can't believe I thought it was fun to have all-night lock-ins on New Year's Eve when I was a youth minister. Crazy Times!
  • I did not stay up to welcome in the New Year, but I did stay up to watch the College Football Playoff.
  • What a great game!
  • SEC, SEC, SEC
  • The FINS are breaking our hearts, AGAIN!
  • One more week, and then the students return to JUFL.
  • I remember being a "Toys R Us Kid"
