Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I gave the congregation and Missions Team a University Update at First Christian Church Clearwater this morning.
  • Unfortunately, my "Co-Pilot" could not join me this morning.
  • Mike preached a great message from Revelation 3 on the importance of being totally committed to Christ and His church.
  • Providing resources for scholarships as well as monthly support FCC Clearwater continues to be a great church.
  • During the month of March, I visited 8 different churches; That is a lot of "Advancing!"
  • The first quarter of 2023 is almost complete, where does the time go?
  • I am not sure, but I know it means we are getting closer to football season!
  • Did anyone have the teams that are in the final four in your bracket? Seriously, that is why they call it madness.
  • Lori and I celebrate our 1 year anniversary tomorrow, WOW!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at the First Christian Church of Frostproof this morning.
  • The message focused on the Uncommon Community of JUFL.
  • It has been a long time, but I also taught Bible School this morning.
  • The FCC Frostproof has a beautiful spirit and the church family was very encouraging.
  • This past week, I celebrated my 12-year work anniversary at JUFL.
  • Over the 12 years, I have preached or given university updates in 172 churches. Oh, the places I have gone!
  • This past weekend reminded us not to bet against the underdog! #bracketsbustedtoosoon
  • We continue our Alumni Roundtable visits this week, so far we have visited Jacksonville and Tampa. Up next, Orlando (Monday) and Palm Bay (Tuesday).
  • Book # 3 this year, Necessary Endings by Henry Cloud.
  • The premise of the book is; Too often we hang on to something no longer useful or helpful instead of bringing it to a close or an end.
  • I have a friend who received devastating news this weekend, but I believe it will turn out to be a great victory for him.
  • Something to Chew on; You cannot go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. ~ C.S. Lewis

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Christ's Church of Marion County this morning.
  • Ray did an excellent job preaching on the subject of "passing the baton" from 1 and 2 Timothy.
  • His message should be preached in pulpits throughout Florida.
  • Pointed Question; is your church preparing the pass the baton to the next generation?
  • Passing the baton is not an option, it is mandatory if our congregations are to survive.
  • We had a great time sharing an update with the congregation. CCMC is a wonderful fellowship.
  • Cancer has once again reminded us this is a fallen world filled with pain and suffering, but as Jeremy Camp sings, There will be a day!
  • Prayers for Jeff and his family.
  • This is my 650th Sunday Night Reflection. To be honest I never thought I would still be "Reflecting" after all this time.
  • Just in case you are wondering, 650 posts come out to be 12.5 years.
  • Are you looking for a good book to read? I suggest Atomic Habits.
  • It is time to fill out the brackets. Who will have the one shining moment?
  • I want my hour back!
  • Another Florida winter is coming Tuesday and Wednesday, Yikes.
  • Something to Chew on; Leadership is developed daily, not in a day. ~ John Maxwell

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Homeport Christian Church in St. Augustine this morning.
  • Shared a University Update with the Homport Family.
  • VERY friendly congregation.
  • Ben and Jordan are doing an excellent job connecting people to Christ.
  • Ben's message on the subject of divorce was very good. He presented truth and showed grace! So good to see our alumni handling such a sensitive topic!
  • We had a wonderful lunch with the missions team and some of their other mission partners.
  • It is so good to see how different mission organizations are fulfilling the mission of reaching the lost for Christ.
  • I am amazed when I visit a church by the number of connections I have with people through my work at JUFL. Today I met people from my home church, as well as met people who were familiar with my first ministry. #smallworldinministry.
  • We are less than 2 months from graduation. This school year is flying by!
  • Vacation dates are on the calendar, it looks like we are going to be Michigan bound.
  • Thankfully, I have a great tour guide.
  • We are now one week away from "Bracket Time"
  • Something to Chew on; Don't buy into the notion that mistakes can somehow be avoided. They can't.  ~ John Maxwell
