Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • It was Two-fer Sunday today as we worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning and then traveled to Poinciana Christian Church this evening to hear the JUFL Choir and Choral Society.
  • Jim's message from Hebrews 10 regarding instant access was inspiring. To think that we no longer need the blood of animals to roll back our sins nor do we wait for a high priest to intercede for us is a great comfort.
  • I am going to do "a deep dive" into the book of Hebrews this summer. I am looking forward to the study.
  • We are blessed to have Dirk and Ruth lead the choir and choral society. None better!
  • Another Imagine Banquet is in the books, thanks to our generous friends we were able to add more scholarship funds for our students.
  • Great dinner with our Life Group Friday night. We are taking a 2-month hiatus before we resume in July.
  • Well, this is it, graduation at JUFL is Friday. Another 34 alumni will be added to our number.
  • Do you remember your college graduation?
  • Another friend of mine has lost her battle with cancer this week. I am so glad there will be a day when ALL our tears will be wiped away.
  • Watching the NFL draft is a reminder 2023 Football season is getting closer.
  • The traffic in Kissimmee is bad enough to make a preacher curse!
  • Something to Chew on; Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. ~ Abraham Lincoln

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Mike Chambers brought and wonderful message focusing on the transforming power of Christ.
  • Listening to Dr. Chambers always takes me back to my CFBC days.
  • All of us CFBCers will agree, we had a stellar faculty back in the day.
  • I attended the Alexander Christian Foundation awards banquet Saturday. So thankful to serve on a board that gives money away!
  • JUTN had our awards chapel last week, so good to celebrate with the students who have excelled this past year.
  • One week of class instruction then finals, the day of accountability is getting close!
  • Our community pool is open, now where is the sunscreen?
  • I must admit, I miss football.
  • Something to Chew on; Leaders live by choice, not by accident. ~ Mark Gorman

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Early edition today as I will be traveling to New Life CC in Wildwood for a concert by the JUFL Choir and Choral Society.
  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim preached the message "Engaged" dealing with what happens after the resurrection of Jesus.
  • We are all responsible for engaging our culture through evangelism once we have been raised to a new life following our baptism.
  • Dinner with some good friends yesterday. I always feel blessed when I am with them!
  • This week I discovered 7 students from JUFL have received the Kathy Tison Music scholarship over the last 6 1/2 years.
  • Her scholarship has made a difference in our student's education.
  • I am so thankful to be able to witness people's generosity.
  • Our Life Group shared favorite verses from the Bible last week. It was great to hear the various verses and what made them special to our members.
  • Summer is just around the corner.
  • I just discovered you can purchase a Blizzard at DQ for eighty-five cents if you use the DQ APP.  That changes everything!
  • Something to Chew on; Bad leaders care about who is right. Good leaders care about what is right. ~ Simon Sinek

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Great day as we witnessed the baptismal waters stir once again! This never gets old.
  • After spending 5 Sundays on the road traveling for JUFL, it was good to be back "home."
  • Jim did an excellent job bringing Hebrews 12 alive this morning.
  • Key point #1, When you realize a great crowd of witnesses is cheering us on, it makes a difference in how you live.
  • Key point #2, All of us need to let go of the stuff/sins that entangle us.
  • Key point #3, We have an awesome coach helping us run the race.
  • A special treat this weekend, watching Savannah compete in the state science competition, so proud of what she has accomplished.
  • Congratulations to UCONN and their one shining moment!
  • Our condo association just completed refurbishing the community pool, it is going to be a wonderful summer.
  • I take great comfort in discovering the word traffic is not found anywhere in scripture when the apostle John describes heaven.
  • Something to Chew on; Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here he has risen, Luke 24:5-6 Are there any more powerful, transforming, comforting, celebratory, victorious words in all of scripture?

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Citrus Ridge Church this morning.
  • So good to reconnect with good friends. The church family at Citrus Ridge are some of the most genuine people I have met in my many travels around Florida.
  • Today's message focused on the trials of our Lord experienced prior to His crucifixion.
  • This morning's key point is that the trials of Jesus remind us evil will do whatever it takes to push its agenda.
  • I miss preaching during this time of year.
  • After 5 straight Sundays representing JUFL in churches around Florida, I get to worship at Kissimmee next week, I am looking forward to being with my church family on Resurrection Sunday!
  • I represented JUFL at a funeral of a former trustee of Florida Christian College Saturday. Aubrey served as a trustee at a critical time in the college's history. So thankful for his wisdom and leadership.
  • Saturday night's buzzer-beater was one for the ages!
  • Who do you have for the "One Shining Moment"?
  • We are less than 5 weeks away from the end of another school year at JUFL. Hey students, remember to finish strong!
  • Something to Chew on; Often in life, we forget what we should remember, and remember what we should forget. ~ Anonymous
