Sunday Night Refections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • John Mitchell with the Christian Restoration Association brought the message from John 2, Jesus' first miracle at Cana.
  • Great message focusing on the work of Christ in our lives.
  • Key Point, Jesus changed the water to wine, but more importantly He is able to change us from sinners to saints!
  • Key Point from Last Week's chapel message at JULF; Be Strong and Courageous.
  • Our life group wrapped up our 9-week study on Proverbs Friday evening, we kick off a new series this week titled Jordan River Rules. You can find the link here.
  • There are few things more joyous than being a grandparent.
  • You can tell Fall is approaching, the license plates in Florida are changing.
  • We now have the local crazies and snowbirds added to our traffic. Time to check in on the defensive driving skills.
  • Only 90 shopping days left!
  • The fins racked up 70 points today. Wow!
  • I would like to meet the people who rank the top 25 teams in college football. I wonder what are they thinking?

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We attended Kissimmee Christian Church this morning. Jim wrapped up his message on Jonah.
  • Powerful message focusing on the importance of doing God's will.
  • Key Question from the message; Is it right for you to be angry? This is a probing question.
  • The big day is finally here, I am speaking at JUFL's chapel on Tuesday.
  • Our Life Group wraps up our study in Proverbs on Friday evening. This has been a great study.
  • While JUFL does not close for several months, there are times I am saddened to think soon all that will be left are the memories of our dear institution.
  • With the closing of JUFL, I am not sure what the future holds for me, but I know who holds the future and that is enough for me.
  • Yesterday was a wonderful day to spend time with a friend of JUFL Her generosity is humbling.
  • I saw a road sign this weekend stating another road in Kissimmee is about to be under construction, It is wonderful to know there will be no traffic in Heaven.
  • We are less than 100 days until Christmas.
  • Do you remember the Sears "Wish Book"?
  • The Publix "Thanks Chris" commercial is worthy of a Hallmark movie.
  • Last evening was a pleasant surprise, Go Gators!
  • It is hard to celebrate Fall when the temperature outside is still in the high 90s.
  • Something to Chew on; Change is painful, but nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong. ~ Mandy Hale

Sunday Night Refelction

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Union Park Christian Church this morning on the subject of a worthy walk from Ephesians 4:1-3.
  • The opening illustration regarding the "Old Guard" reminded us of the dedication of the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces.
  • Key Point #1, We are to have a worthy walk
  • Key Point #2, We are all responsible for the unity of our local congregations.
  • I had a great time connecting with ministry colleagues last Thursday, I am blessed to have so many friends in the local ministry.
  • Rereading Seth Godin's book Tribes once again. Good Stuff!
  • This is the week, I place all of the advice for my chapel message on paper, I am up on Sept. 19th, Praying I am able to give our staff and students something to think about.
  • Why are car repairs so expensive? Well, there goes the emergency fund!
  • I wish I could buy stock in Bob's Barracades! His orange and white traffic cones are everywhere.
  • Week 2 of college football and week one of the NFL, yes, it is the most wonderful time of the year. BTW all the Big Florida teams won this weekend!
  • Something to Chew on; You don't need a keyboard to lead...you only need the desire to make something happen. ~ Seth Godin, Tribes

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim continued his series "Run Jonah Run" a study of the Old Testament prophet Jonah.
  • Jim's message reminded all of us that God is a God of second chances.
  • His illustration of a friend's second chance was very moving.
  • I discovered a new devotional tool about 3 weeks ago, Thank you Steve for your words of wisdom.
  • Cancer has raised its ugly head again as I discovered a long-time friend is about to start the battle.  I look forward to the day when cancer and all other diseases are banished. REMEMBER, as Jeremy Camp said, "There will be a day!"
  • My chapel message is starting to take shape. This will be the first message I have ever prepared with 40+ contributors. Thank You all!
  • We traveled to Jacksonville to see my mom this weekend. All I can say is stopping at Bucces on Labor Day weekend is CRAZY. But if you are going to get your beaver nuggets, Bucces is the place to go!
  • Watching mom age is very difficult, so glad there is more to life than our time on earth.
  • Ah, September! Fall is in the air - NOT!
  • College Football has started, it may be a LOOOOOOONG season!
  • Something to Chew on; Actions prove who someone is, words just prove who they want to be. ~ Anonymous
