Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Citrus Ridge Church this morning.
  • The message was on the subject of worry from Matthew 6.
  • Worry is a national epidemic, we are constant worriers.
  • Two ways to keep worry from overweleming us, Seek God's Kingdom and find an area of service. Both of these will take your mind off worry.
  • I met a couple from Prince Edward Island today who know Dr. Eubanks, it is truly a small world.
  • In the Spirit of Thanksgiving here are just a few things I am thankful for this year; Lori * My Kids * My grandchildren * Heaven * New Opportunities * The opportunity to Preach the Word * Friends, Near and Far *and of course White Chocolate Oreos,
  • There were more lows than highs this year in Gainesville. Maybe 2024 will be better.
  • One item on my Christmas list is less traffic!
  • Favorite Christmas Movie; It is a Wonderful Life!
  • Chex Mix party crunch is truly a guilty pleasure!
  • What was life like before, Amazon?
  • Something to Chew on; It is the little things that are vital. Little things make big things happen, ~ John Wooden

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • It was a two-fer Sunday today. I preached at Citrus Ridge Church this morning and attended Kissimmee Christian Church's Gratitude Service this evening.
  • From today's message, Remember Gratitude from Luke 17.
  • Key point #1, At times, rejected people can be the most grateful.
  • Key point #2, gratitude can change a person's point of view as well as their life.
  • Tonight's gratitude service was very meaningful, thank you, Tony and team, for helping us to remember to be gracious not just on Thursday, but all year!
  • Passports arrived this week, we are Alaska-bound in July!
  • Question for you, Sweet Potatoe Casserole; With or without mini marshmellows?
  • Only one college football game left, thankfully the season will soon be over. Then comes the chant, Wait Until next year!
  • Mini vacation begins tomorrow.
  • I am going to miss many of the students who make up our student body at JUFL. I wish you had the opportunity to meet some of them. They are a joy to be around.
  • Something to Chew on; Pursue what catches your heart, not what catches your eyes. ~ Roy T. Bennett

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Citrus Ridge Church in Davenport this morning.
  • The morning's message, "There is a little bit of Jonah in all of us."
  • The message focused on God's pursuit of Jonah.
  • Citrus Ridge Church is a wonderful group of believers; friendly, encouraging, and willing to be servants to extend the Kingdom of God.
  • Generosity is not always about money, this week I experienced a company that was very generous with their time and it did not go unnoticed.
  • I discovered this week, that others are hoarding White Chocolate Oreos, this madness must stop!
  • $75 million dollar buyout, I am rethinking my career choice!
  • Seriously, 75 million, can you say excessive?
  • It is difficult to make a Christmas List when you do not have the "Sears Wishbook."
  • When your kids make you laugh, you know you did something right!
  • Something to Chew on; You can speak well if your tongue can deliver the message of your heart. ~ John Ford.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • After spending the last two weeks in Bartow and Tampa we worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Once again, we saw the baptismal waters stir. It is always a good Sunday when we see someone accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
  • Jim's message focused on Psalm 100 and our need to be thankful in ALL circumstances.
  • Thankfulness comes when we take inventory of all we have and realize God has blessed all of us.
  • My prayer journal is a constant reminder God is involved in our lives.
  • I am not a pessimist, but it will be a Christmas Miracle if the boys from Gainesville play in a bowl game.
  • 6:15 and it is already dark. I enjoyed the extra hour of sleep last night, but it sure seems late right now.
  • My prayer for the last few months has been very simple; Dear God, Make it abundantly clear!
  • My Guilty Pleasure is watching commercials featuring Peyton.
  • We were able to see Miss Savannah play softball this past week, Good Times!
  • We were able to have dinner with some long-time friends last week, so good to catch up with the two of them.
  • Something to Chew on, Say "no" to distraction so you can say "yes" to your destiny. ~ Therma Davis
