Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim continued his series on He Gets Me, but Do I Get Him.
  • This was one of the best messages I have heard on the subject of Justification.
  • One of the takeaways from the message is that justice and grace meet at the cross.
  • We returned to KCC tonight where I was ordained as an elder.
  • It is humbling to have people pray over you.
  • Attended our Elder's Planning Retreat this past weekend, we are asking God to do some amazing things over the next few years.
  • I spent the first part of last week in Tennessee at Johnson University celebrating the generosity of our partners.
  • Generous people are joyful people.
  • We are just a few weeks away from March Madness!
  • Something to Chew on; A day without prayer is a day without blessing, and a life without prayer is a life without power. ~ Edwin Harvey

Sunday Night Reflections (Monday Edition)

A Few Thoughts from an  Amazing Day...

  • This week's edition comes to you on Monday, thanks to Allegiant Airlines and their timely scheduling - NOT!
  • Three-hour delay!
  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church on Sunday.
  • Jim's message focused on getting out of the boat, focusing on Peter and Jesus walking on the water.
  • Key Point #1; Too many people want the safety of the boat!
  • Key Point #2, When we get out of the boat that is where we find Jesus.
  • I was finally able to get over the Flu, now if I can shake this cough!
  • Spending the first part of the week in Knoxville on the Johnson University campus.
  • The first thing I noticed this morning, you have to scrape the ice off your windshield before your day gets started. I guess this is reason #207 why I live in Florida!
  • First Sunday without football!
  • There is only one more weekend in February, how is that possible!
  • One good thing about March, I get to open another box of white chocolate Oreos! So far I a limiting my supply to one box a month! #oreodiscipline.
  • Something to Chew on; For most of us, the great danger is not that we will renounce our faith. It is that we will become so distracted and rushed and preoccupied that we will settle for a mediocre version of it. We will just skim our lives instead of actually living them. ~ John Ortberg

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I was scheduled to preach at Fort Caroline Christian Church this morning. Unfortunately, I got sick Saturday evening and was unable to preach this morning.
  • This is the first time in my 13 years working at Johnson University FL I have missed a preaching assignment due to illness.
  • So thankful the church had other missionaries attending who filled in for my absence.
  • So far I am not impressed with the $700,000,000 commercials this evening.
  • I know it is a big game, but a four-hour preshow, seriously!
  • Something to Chew on; Some things are so unexpected that no one is prepared for them. ~ Leo Rosten

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • I had to worship solo as Lori was in Michigan this weekend.
  • We kicked off the church's missions emphasis month today.
  • Great messsage by Al Serhal from Hippa Valley Christian Mission.
  • It is amazing what God is doing in Zimbabwe today.
  • We were able to see the baptismal waters stir once again today.
  • I read an article this week stating Florida has the worst drivers in the United States, after this week, I believe it.
  • No football this weekend, well there was the Pro Bowl, but that is not the same thing.
  • Next Sunday is the big game, who ya' got?
  • 7 million for a commercial during the Super Bowl. Seriously!
  • I discovered Oreo is buying ad space for the Super Bowl. Oreo, you do not need an ad, simply sell White Chocolate Oreos year round!
  • Our Cruise to Alaska is coming up in July, on Thursday I have the opportunity to preview the ship to check out meeting spaces for the 110 people traveling with us.
  • I am not worried about taking 110 people to Alaska, I just want to make sure I bring back the same 110 people! #herdingcats
  • Something to Chew on; In our prayers, we talk to God, in our Bible Study God talks to us, and we had better let God do most of the talking. ~ D.L. Moody
