Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at First Christian Church of Sun City Center this morning. It has been a long time since I had the privilege of preaching on Resurrection Sunday.
  • The message focused on Mark 16:1-8.
  • Verses 6 and 7 are the most powerful verses in the text!
  • He (Jesus) is not here! followed by the instructions given by the angel, "Go tell his disciples AND Peter!"
  • Resurrection Sunday reminds us we all have a second chance!
  • we closed out the service with a wonderful time of prayer by the elders of the church.
  • FCC is a good church and if you know anyone looking to serve in Florida, I highly recommend you give them a call. If you need more information regarding the church message me on FB.
  • Normally church members treat me to lunch at a restaurant after I preach, but today we had a massive home-cooked meal. Delicious
  • It was good to sit around the table with perfect strangers and discover we have so much in common. Good Times!
  • Kissimmee Christian Church had a wonderful Good Friday worship Friday Evening thank you Tony, and the worship ministry.
  • No traffic on I-4 today, an Easter Miracle!
  • Who had NC State in their bracket?
  • 3 months down, time is zipping by this year.
  • Something to Chew on; Life is divided into three terms: that which was, Which is, and which will be. Let us learn from the past to profit from the past, and from the present, to live better in the future. ~ William Wordsworth

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Mike brought an excellent message on the importance of the Triumphant Entry.
  • Listening to Mike reminded me how grateful I am to have had him as a professor at CFBC.
  • As always, I learn something new when Mike preaches or teaches.
  • This time he shared the importance of children in God's kingdom, Good Stuff.
  • Great to see the baptismal waters stir once again.
  • I have been invited to preach next Sunday at FCC Sun City Center, I always enjoy preaching, and being able to preach on Resurrection Sunday is a bonus.
  • Question regarding March Madness, would you rather lose by 20 or lose in a last-second shot?
  • To me, the last-second shot is a killer! There is no way to respond, you just walk off the court and think what might have been!
  • We are celebrating 2 years of marriage this week. Wow, time has gone by quickly.
  • Something to Chew on;  There is no real ending. It is the place where you stop the story.  ~ Frank Herbert.
  • I am so thankful the story of CFBC/FCC/JUFL is not stopping, it will continue as long as we continue to tell the Old, Old Story! May the Zeal never cease!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning, Student Minister, Lance brought the message today.
  • Lance did a wonderful job presenting the truth this morning.
  • We were able to see four baptisms today!
  • Watching people come up from the baptistry never gets old!
  • Spring Break is over, it is time for the home stretch at JUFL. it will not be long now.
  • This week I celebrated my 13th year at JUFL as Director of Advancement. Oh, the places I have been and the things I have seen in churches across Florida.
  • Here are some interesting stats regarding my life at JUFL; 4 years as a student, 7 years as an adjunct instructor, 3 years as a trustee, and 13 years as an employee.
  • The Gators played valiantly today, but Auburn was just too much.
  • Something to Chew on; Don't be sad because it is over, smile because it happened. ~ Dr. Suess

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Once again we saw the baptismal waters stir once again.
  • Jim did a great job pointing out the "isms" this world has to offer.
  • Losing an hour of sleep last night hard, especially for Lily.
  • After a 3-week break, our Life Group continued our study on the Life of David.
  • I have an opportunity to preach on Easter Sunday once again!
  • I attended Young at Heart days at Lake Aurora Christian Camp this past Thursday. So many friends were wishing me well as we approach the closing of JUFL. I am blessed with so many friends.
  • This week is Spring Break at JUFL, and our second semester is going by too fast.
  • Spring Football practice began last week for College football. YES!
  • When you get caught up watching a Hallmark Movie and forget to blog at 8 pm is a sign you may soon lose your man card.
  • Something to Chew on; People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude. ~ John Maxwell

Sunday Night Refelctions

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at First Christian Church Sun City Center this morning.
  • Their minister has recently retired and they are looking for a new minister. Mike has done a wonderful job leading this congregation for the last 11 years.
  • Mike is one of the pioneers, being part of the first class of CFBC.
  • Today's message focused on the power grace has and how grace restores us to a right relationship with our heavenly father.
  • I must confess, there are days when the travel around Florida weighs on me, but not on this day, so glad to worship with the church family at FCCSCC.
  • Today I am posting my 700th Sunday Night Reflections, I guess you could say I have done a lot of reflecting.
  • Slogging through the book of Leviticus the last few days, it is amazing to see the Holiness of God through this OT book.
  • What surprises me the most about SNR is not that I have posted 700 times, but according to Google Stats, I have people reading my blog in Germany, Russia, China, and other places outside of the United States.
  • Friday Night I was able to hear another alum,  Arron brought a great message on the subject Love Boldly, from 1 Corinthians 13.
  • I attended the funeral of a wonderful lady Saturday morning, she had an amazing impact on healthcare in Orlando.
  • Something to Chew on;  In honor of 700 SNR posts - To sustain longevity, you have to evolve. ~ Aries Spears
