Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning on the subject of Prayer.
  • Key topic #1, A Prayer Life is defined as making space for God.
  • Key topic #2, When you set aside a time for prayer and a place to pray, your space becomes a holy place.
  • When you preach two services nothing is more rewarding than an afternoon nap.
  • This is the last week of JUFL; the last commencement is Friday.
  • CFBC/FCC/JUFL has been a special place for many students.
  • I wish I could put my thoughts in writing regarding our closure, but my words would not do it justice. IYKYK
  • Like most things in this life; we do not know what we will miss until it is gone.
  • I do know I will miss watching new students arrive at the beginning of the Fall semester, so much optimism, and so many dreams!
  • I will also miss our annual commencement programs as well, seeing all the proud parents reminds me of the thrill my parents had back in 1981
  • We saw a wonderful movie this weekend, Unsung Hero is a great family movie. Don't miss it.
  • The NFL draft was this weekend, it will not be long now!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Fort Caroline Christian Church in Jacksonville this morning.
  • The message focused on the Mission of Jesus, seeking the lost.
  • Seeking the lost is our purpose as well.
  • It was good to reconnect with so many friends at the church.
  • When did 70 mph become a suggestion and not the law?
  • This is the last week of instruction at JUFL, up next are finals and then Commencement!
  • After commencement, there will be 44 graduating classes from CFBC/FCC/JUFL, as you can see the impact of our college will continue for a long time.
  • Speaking of Impact, the Alexander Christian Foundation gave away over $19,000 in scholarships yesterday. I am so glad to be a part of this organization helping to make Christian Higher Education affordable.
  • We discovered this week that if you release 31 new songs the world will go crazy!
  • Something to Chew on; The secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda. ~ John Maxwell.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Great time of worship and a powerful message from 1 Peter.
  • I am thankful for the KCC staff.
  • We said goodbye to Josiah this morning. In 2 short years, this young man has made a powerful impact on our young adult ministry.
  • Our loss is northern Kentucky's gain!
  • One of the unique things about worshipping at KCC is you never know who will visit, it was so good to see some friends from Palm Day today.
  • The spring game is in the books, before you know it we will be watching games that count!
  • April 15th, Taxes are due, I may have to break into my White Chocolate Oreo stash for comfort food.
  • There are 19 days until commencement, and I will miss this time of the year at JUFL. It is always inspiring to see how proud families are of their graduates!
  • Something to Chew on; All adventures, especially into new territory, are scary. ~ Sally Ride

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning. Jim preached a sermon titled, "It is not about you,"
  • Great message reminding us where our focus should be today.

  • Yesterday was our Impact Banquet at Johnson University Florida. The overall message of the day, CFBC/FCC/JUFL is a special place!
  • It was great to see several alumni participate in the program.
  • BTW, New Creation, thank you for doing your part in leading us in worship.
  • Dirk and the College Choir and Choral Society did an excellent job with tunes from Broadway.
  • The Impact Banquet was the next to last event at 1011 Bill Beck Blvd. All that is left is commencement.
  • The NCAA Women's tournament is over, Sometimes your dreams do not come true. Remember every team in the tournament ended their season with a loss except one.
