Sunday Night Reflections (Monday Evening Edition)

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We spent the weekend at Creekside Christian Church representing Johnson University. Dr. Overdorf preached 2 wonderful messages challenging both the congregation and the student ministry.
  •  We also had meetings with several friends of the University. So good to meet with Kingdom minded people.
  • While we were busy throughout the weekend, the event I enjoyed the most was the student ministry event on Sunday evening. Watching 200 teens worshipping God was inspiring! What was more inspiring was the number of teens who arrived early and prayed over the seats their peers would sit in later that evening. WOW!
  • Watching these students brought back wonderful memories of my days as a youth minister. It was a wonderful 17 years!
  • Several family and friends are battling health issues right now. So thankful we have a savior.
  • Taxes done!
  • I wish I could claim Lily as a dependent, at least there is not a Chihuahua tax!
  • I understand we may soon see flying cars, I am wondering if we will have "Air Traffic Jams?"

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Ocala Christian Church this morning.
  • This morning's topic, Prayer, our lifeline.
  • The message focused on Jesus teaching his disciples how to pray.
  • Key point #1, when you find a place to pray, soon, that place becomes a holy place.
  • Key point $2, prayer is making a place for God.
  • Oh no, another winter blast this week!
  • It looks like it is time for a cruise!
  • It was great to catch up with good friends at the state minister's meeting Thursday.
  • Bob's presentation was excellent as always.
  • I did not see many $8,000,000 commercials last week.
  • BTW, I could not find any football this week. However, March Madness is just around the corner.
  • Something to Chew on; Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. ~ John F. Kennedy

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • John brought another wonderful message this morning from 1 Samuel 14.
  • Key point from the message the importance of taking risk.
  • In this passage one sees the Loyalty of a Servant and the Faithfulness of God.
  • This one two punch allows us to be victorious in our risk taking opportunities.
  • After all the hype, tonight is the night, will it be a three-peat or will there be the end of a streak?
  • I wonder which team will take the greatest risk tonight.
  • Is it wrong to break out the Super Bowl snacks at 5:00?
  • I can't wait to see what an $8,000,000 commercial looks like.
  • After tonight it is all about the road to the Final Four.
  • Something to Chew on; You may not always see God's hand, but you can always know His heart! ~ Quote from today's message.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • John did a wonderful job preaching on Rahab the Helper.
  • What a wonderful twist on a woman who was anything but a helper at one point in her life!
  • We have been blessed with wonderful preaching while we wait for a new senior minister.
  • Lori and I got away for a week of rest and relaxation this past week.
  • What a wonderful time to rest and enjoy some time away.
  • Only one week until the Super Bowl, who are you picking?
  • At  8 million dollars for a 30 second commercial it had better be a spectacular commercial!
  • The first Super Bowl I remember watching was Super Bowl Six. Dallas  24 Miami 3. Oh the heartache! However, the next year was pure perfection!
  • How can it be February already.
  • Have you seen any groundhogs today?
  • Something to Chew on; Life is not a matter of milestones, but of moments. ~ Rose Kennedy
