Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Englewood Christian Church in Jacksonville this morning.
  •  I finished the two part series; What Would Jesus Not Do.
  • Today, He would not avoid a dirty job, from John 13, the washing of the disciple's feet.
  • Key Point #1, In washing the disciple's feet Jesus was showing the full extent of His love.
  • Key Point #2, Serving others will help you earn an MBA, A Mop Bucket Attitude. A place where you serve rather than being served.
  • I count it a blessing to be able to go back home and preach at my home church.
  • So many adults who I knew growing up have gone on the glory.
  • Precious Memories.
  • Thank you Pete for the opportunity.
  • Looking for a great read? Try "The 6 Types of Working Genius" by Patrick Lencioni. Great read, I knocked it out in 2 days.
  • I-95, I-4, and I-75 are becoming permanent parking lots in the state of Florida.
  • I know it is the preseason, but July 31is the first NFL game of the season. Are you ready for some football.
  • Well, if you marry a girl from Michigan, you had better became a Lions fan.
  • Something to Chew on; I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying. ~ Michael Jordan.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Englewood Christian Church in Jacksonville today.
  • The message; What would Jesus NOT do.  He would not miss an opportunity.
  • The message focused on John 4 and the woman at the well.
  • Key Point #1, Jesus went to where the people gathered, even if it was uncomfortable.
  • Key Point #2, When one realizes eternity is in the balance, one is willing to overcome obstacles for the cause of Christ.
  • There is something comforting about preaching at your home church. It is also challenging as they remember who you were as a kid!
  • We had a nice vacation in Gatlinburg last week. those of you who follow me on FACEBOOK know it was almost "UNBEARABLE".
  • Three friends are retiring in July, congratulations Richard, Scott, and Roger. Enjoy your new normal!
  • Heath wrapped up his interim ministry with KCC today, he has done a wonderful job preaching while we searched for a new minister.
  • We will welcome Shawn next week as a new era in leadership begins.
  • My heart breaks for the families in Texas.
  • We are seeing "Back to School" ads way to soon, Let's give teachers and kids a break!
  • Something to Chew on; Change your thoughts and you change your world. ~ Norman Vincent Peale
