Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts From an Amazing Day...

  • Finished up a teaching on Joshua this morning, I hope I am as faithful as this OT Hero.
  • Joshua was a man of faith and a faithful man and one worthy of emulating.
  • You can tell the spirit of the church by watching the worship team on stage, this morning our team revealed both joy and praise.
  • It is day 4 of my daughter's Haiti trip, from the emails we are receiving, it looks like it going to be a life changing experience.
  • Jim preached on Psalm 23:4 this evening, great message on the good shepherd as well as practical lessons on what it means to be an elder/shepherd in the local church today.
  • One reason the church is having such a weak impact on our culture today, is we having given up on the mandate to make disciples.
  • I know it is 3 months away, but the Florida Christian College Elders/Leaders Conference is really shaping up to be a great day of training and encouragement.
  • Getting back into a routine of preaching as I will be preaching in churches around the state for the next 6 weeks. (I am really looking forward to the next 6 weeks)
  • Discovered this tweet yesterday by Thom Rainer; Because the American church is mired in mediocrity, change is often wrought with conflict. Though it is true, I also find it very disturbing.
  • Something to Chew on; You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it. ~ Margaret Thatcher.
