Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with the church family of FCC Titusville this morning, great time of worship!
  • I was able to preach on the topic; "There is a little bit of Jonah in all of us". Like Jonah, there is always a reluctance until we commit ourselves to God's plans.
  • There are basically two Jonah's in the book of Jonah; Jonah 1.0 the one who ran and Jonah 2.0, the one that did what God asked him to do.
  • Question; Which Jonah are you; 1.0 or 2.0?
  • I also did something I have not done in 20 years, teach a Jr. High Bible School Class, let me just say things have changed.
  • FCC Titusville held a missions emphasis this weekend. It was obvious, FCC Titusville believes in missions.
  • The church has several people who have grown up in the church and are now serving somewhere in the world.
  • At a time when churches are considering cutting their missions ministry here is a church who understands "it is not all about us."
  • If you live in Florida, you might notice that God is lowering the thermostat around here a little bit, it is beginning to get a nicer in this area.
  • Six weeks down and the college football season is really getting interesting.
  • Will wonders ever cease, my mom got an iPhone this week - WOW!
  • Some good friends of mine have been in California this past week, looks like they have had a wonderful time.
  • The Fall TV season is upon us, I cannot believe some people are paid to produce some of the shows being offered this year.
  • This past week's debate should be a reminder to all  leaders; you just cannot mail it in!
  • Dinner plans this week include having a dinner with some friends I first met in 1984, I cannot wait to reconnect.
  • Sometimes I am surprised by opportunities God lays before me. It does make this ministry really exciting!
  • Something to Chew on; Any church that is not seriously involved in helping fulfill the great commission, has forfeited its Biblical right to exist ~ Oswald J. Smith (Ouch - now that one hurt!)
