Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at First Christian Church of Seminole today. Two service one traditional one contemporary - both services had a gracious spirit.
  • Key thought from the message - 2015 is not just a list of open dates, but a possibility of opportunity. What will fill your calendar; the routine or the opportunity? It is up to you!
  • All totaled, I preached in 26 churches in 2014.
  • While this has been a rough year in our home, this was one of our best Christmases! All the family was with us. So blessed to have our children near us.
  • Disney's Candlelight processional is a great event, saw it twice this year!
  • Standing in line for the Candlelight Processional gives you an opportunity to visit with all kinds of people. I have met some very interesting people this year.
  • Went to the Mall only once this year for Christmas Gifts everything else was online - stress-free shopping - gotta love it!
  • One thought I came away with after our 1 visit to the Mall - Who came up with the parking plan?
  • Christmas Cookies make great Christmas Gifts!
  • Once again no sign of the Dolphins in the playoffs! I miss Shula
  • One thing I am going to miss has the Christmas season passes are the Oreos dipped in white chocolate!
  • Something to Chew on; Resolution # 1, I will live for God, Resolution #2 If no one else does I still will ~ Jonathan Edwards.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today. Wonderful message from the prophet Zachariah today. Jim has done an excellent job with the "Foretold" series. As a former preacher I know how hard it is to come up with fresh material every Christmas.
  • Thank you Tony for a wonderful time of worship, if you are filling overwhelmed this Christmas listen here
  • Looking forward to Candlelight Service Wednesday evening - Christmas is almost here.
  • Back in the pulpit next week at FCC Seminole.
  • Christmas is a time of two extremes, if you watch carefully you will see acts of kindness, but you will also see acts of selfishness - especially in the Mall parking lot.
  • Dolphins keep showing us little rays of hope, what will 2015 bring?
  • Kathy's radiation therapy is catching up with her fatigue is becoming a way of life - Oh how I hate cancer.
  • Shot my first video for JUFL this week, special thanks to Alex for making look good! You are the best.
  • What movie will you go see on Christmas Day - lots of choices out there!
  • Kohl's is open 24 hours through December 24th, is that really necessary?
  • Something to Chew on; “Remember, if Christmas isn't found in your heart, you won't find it under a tree.” ~ Charlotte Carpenter

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Another two-fer this weekend, Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee this morning and then worshiped at New Life Christian Church in the Villages tonight.
  • Great message this morning from the book of Micah. Jim you are right the prophecies continue to point to only one - Jesus Christ.
  • "You are holy" is a very moving song, you cannot help but be joyful as you run though the titles of our savior.
  • Having a church home is one of the great blessings of our faith!
  • New Life Christian is one of the most generous churches I know - From the sharing of resources to the encouraging words after tonight's Night of Noel program they continued to be a blessing.
  • How can one not stand when the Hallelujah Chorus is sung?
  • Friday night was Night of Noel at JUFL - great music, great crowd - truly a special night!
  • I have seen Disney's candlelight processional at least 5 times and each time it is more powerful than the last!
  • One thought that washed over me this year at the candlelight processional was Isaiah 55:11. During the Christmas season thousands hear the story of Christ's birth, I am sure seeds are planted in the lives of the listeners.
  • Merry Christmas vs. Happy Holidays, think about it without Christ there are no Happy Holidays!
  • 1 more week of school - please pray for our students it is finals week!
  • Question for Kathy; which is worse, the chemo or the radiation - Answer, the radiation! Oh how I hate cancer.
  • My granddaughter is in her first Christmas program this week - time to break out the camera. She is playing an angel - now that is what I call type casting!
  • Having some football withdraw - but bowl season is just around the corner.
  • Something to Chew on; "The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God." C.S. Lewis from“Mere Christianity”

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts From an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at First Christian Church of Orange Park this morning. Great message from the book of Hebrews.
  • Not your ordinary Christmas text, yet Hebrews 1:1-3 contains powerful truths for the Christmas season.
  • The illustration of the "Jesus Bolt" was truly amazing!
  • Spent last weekend with Kathy's family celebrating Thanksgiving in the mountains of North Georgia, wonderful place to unwind.
  • Not having cell phone service on the mountain can be a blessing and a curse.
  • Kathy has finished her radiation treatments so thankful for the women who acted as her chauffeurs the last 33 days!
  • Favorite Christmas Snack #1 Oreos dipped in white chocolate, you only get 24 in a box but they are so goooooood!
  • Seeing Kathy's recovery from cancer has made me realize I really have a short Christmas list this year! In fact, I think I have everything I need!
  • All I want for Christmas is a parking space at the Mall!
  • Other than Easter, this is my favorite time of the year to preach, and yes I have a Christmas series I am writing - but I have no where to preach it.
  • Can't wait to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" this Christmas season.
  • Have you noticed how much theology is found in the old Christmas carols?
  • Well the college footballs season is over, that was a fast 13 weeks! Now the bowl games, only a few perk my interest.
  • Favorite Christmas Snack #2 Homemade Party Mix, make sure there are peanuts in the mixed!
  • Spending time with my granddaughter always perks me up.
  • This weekend was the Tison Christmas party in Jacksonville, so blessed to have a large close family.
  • Visited our family cemetery while in Jacksonville this weekend, We can trace our family tree back 5 generations through the cemetery.
  • 1 full week of school left and then finals, August seems so long ago.
  • Favorite Christmas Snack #3, Cheese Ball and Crackers!
  • Something to Chew on; Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.  He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. ~ Apostle Paul, Colossians 1:15-17

Sunday Bight Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with the Church family of River Run Brevard this morning. Great time of worship and a great message on THANKSLIVING.
  • Dan and his team have made great strides in a church that was on the ropes just a few years ago.
  • If you want a testimony about how to revitalize a church contact River Run Brevard. They honored God through their actions and it is apparent God is pleased with their progress.
  • One of the most powerful videos on gratitude was palyed this morning - it is true, images often move us better than words.
  • Savannah celebrated her 2nd Birthday today. Great Fun!
  • I melt when she calls me Papa!
  • Changes coming to Gainesville. If I were a Seminole, I would be leery about the upcoming game with the Gators - Sometime Emotion can overcome skill.
  • Radiation is a pain - it is taking it's toll on Kathy, Oh how I hate Cancer!
  • Missed vision night at church tonight, but from all I hear we are moving forward with some amazing things!
  • There are only 3 weeks left in the college football regular season - season moved by way too fast.
  • Why do stores need to be open on Thanksgiving Day?
  • Did you know in 45 days it will be 2015? Whatever happened to Y2K?
  • My heart breaks for a couple of preachers who are currently in a storm.
  • Seeing the generosity of people always warms my soul.
  • Everyday I want to pray as John; Come quickly Lord Jesus!
  • Did I tell you how much I hate Cancer? Come quickly Lord Jesus!
  • Something to Chew on; Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. ~ Jesus, John 16:33

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped with Vero Christian Church this morning.
  • The Vero Church is filled with friends of JUFL and many alumni have come out of the church, because of their generosity they are truly changing the world for Christ.
  • I had planned to be there as a missions representative but was pressed into service to preach. Preaching minister was hit with a case of Laryngitis. Hope you are feeling better, Steve!
  • Today's message focused on the power of the word of God.
  • Call it a "God Moment" but It was pretty amazing the worship set fit my message perfectly. Thank you Scott for a wonderful worship set!
  • In a world that questions all authority, one must remember there is one true source of authority and He has given us  a guide to live by.
  • Our oldest son  turned 34 this weekend - As Kenny Chesney sings; Don't Blink!"
  • My traveling days are over, for 2014, this year I visited a church running 3,200 in attendance and a church running 19. Traveled as far south as Naples and as far north as Jacksonville. It will be good to worship with the FCC Kissimmee family for a few weeks.
  • Here is a telling stat in May of 2013 JUFL gave me a car to use for school travel, the odometer read 37,555, today (18 months later) the car has 72,200 miles. Call me the Road Warrior.
  • Babysitting the granddaughter is such a joy.
  • When I see all Kathy goes through with this cancer I get angry at this fallen creation!
  • I would like to celebrate Thanksgiving before  before jumping into the Christmas Hype!
  • You have to admit it is nice not receiving all those political ads in the mail!
  • Doubly nice not being flooded with political TV ads.
  • Are the Gators finally getting it together?
  • Something to Chew On; “Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.” Epicurus

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Spoke at Dade City Christian Church on Saturday evening at their night of worship.
  • Great group of folks trying to reach a new generation for Christ.
  • Message for the evening focused on our Amazing Race. In this life we have to keep running!
  • Also enjoyed great worship with some 'up and coming' worship bands in the area!
  • Saturday JUFL hosted the Healthy Elder conference on the campus, great to see such a large number of men interested in becoming better leaders in the local church.
  • Staggering Stat from the conference; 4,000 churches will close in America this year simply because they have forgotten their mission.
  • What is the mission, here is a clue.
  • I wish I would have attended a Healthy Elder conference when I first started out in ministry.
  • Dolphins and Gators win on the same weekend - did not see that happening.
  • Extra hour of sleep was nice last night, but I will be hating it come Spring!
  • November, already!

Sunday Night Refections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Doubly blessed today, attended worship at FCC Kissimmee this morning then spoke at Winter Haven CC for their Faith Promise tonight.
  • Today's message was spot on regarding how to handle conflict in the local church, every church leader should get a copy of Jim's message this morning. So much pain and frustration could be avoided if they would simply follow God's principles from Acts 15.
  • Jim's illustration regarding Titus as a new convert was a powerful illustration of the importance of handling conflict correctly.
  • Tonight's message focused on missions; the need and the alternative to missions. What a unique perspective taken from the prophet Jonah.
  • Healthy churches are mission minded churches.
  • Missions does not always mean you are taking the gospel overseas, but missions is taking the gospel to someone!
  • I was able to travel with some of the students from JUFL today - great bunch of students, our future is bright.
  • A new office allows for a fresh start, spent the weekend going through some old files - why do we hold on to so much meaningless stuff?
  • Well the Gators did not lose this weekend!
  • I will be so glad to see the election process come to an end next week - according to all of the negative commercials if either party gets in we will either have a zombie apocalypse or life as we know it it will be over - We desperately need leaders!
  • Speaking of Leaders; JUFL is hosting the Healthy Elder conference on the campus this Saturday, November 1 - remember EVERYTHING rises and falls on leadership.
  • Panara Bread makes one good cinnamon roll.
  • Something to Chew on; We must arrange life so sin no longer looks good to us. ~ John Ortberg, The Life You Always Wanted.

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped at the Christian Church of Moore Haven this morning.
            • Focus of today's message "Why Strong in the Scriptures is more than a motto"
            • Key text; Jeremiah 6:16, This is what the Lord says:
“Stop at the crossroads and look around.
Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.
Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.
            • I truly believe we are at the crossroads as a nation and as a culture.
            • By the way, Houston we have a problem
            • Loved sharing stories of what the alumni of JUFL are doing today.
            • God truly has done more than we could ever ask or imagine through the lives of the alumni of JUFL. May the Zeal never cease!
            • Watch college football this weekend was heart wrenching - looks like the gators are out of postseason play again.
            • Well basketball is just around the corner!
            • If you are ever in Winter Park, Check out The Coop - Good Food!
            • Dolphins on TV Today - it is an October Miracle!
            • Something to Chew on; He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? ~ Micah 6:8

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today.
            • Great message on the subject of a reasonable faith.
            • Tony C. has to be one of the best worship leaders around.
            • Great day at Roundup this past weekend. It is always good to hear the stories from the past as we look to the future, Ross and Jim did a wonderful job bringing two fine messages.
            • I so appreciate the servant's heart many of the students of JUFL presented this weekend.
            • Favorite part of Roundup for me was the PPT of the various alumni serving around the world. I am amazed how God has directed so many of our alums into a place of kingdom growth.
            • The Gators and the Dolphins gave us two heartbreaking losses!
            • Experienced some surprising customer service today, unexpected but welcomed.
            • Two great quotes from John Ortberg's book, The Me I Want to Be! 1)There is no way for a human being to come to God that does not involve surrender. 2) Jesus does not come to rearrange the outside of our life the way we want. He comes to rearrange the inside of our life the way God wants.
            • Just in case you are curious, there are 73 days 'til Christmas! I guess that is why we went Christmas tree shopping this afternoon!
            • Something to Chew on; Life is not about any particular achievement or experience. The most important task of your life is not what you do, but who you become. ~ John Ortberg

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Preached at Englewood Christian Church today for their homecoming. What a GREAT day!
            • I am so impressed with what is happening at ECC, Ken and his team are doing a wonderful job.
            • Today's message focused on the difference people make in the lives of others. I used several illustrations from Englewood's past to drive the point home.
            • Four traits or making a difference in people's lives from Philippians 2 - Love People, Take Risk, Be a Tireless Worker, Become a Servant Leader.
            • ECC is a special place, since 1964 they have given $5 million to missions, helped plant 13 churches, were heavily involved in starting a church camp and a bible college - They have made a difference in the Kingdom.
            • ECC has also sent many young men and women to Bible college, and they in turn are an extension of Englewood's ministry.
            • The weather change this morning was a welcomed relief.
            • Watch the Gators play is becoming excruciating!
            • It is October 5th and I have already seen a Christmas commercial of TV - REALLY!
            • Goodwill is a great place to pick up books!
            • There are times I crave a good hotdog - and tonight is one of those times!
            • I love being a part of a small group.
            • Something to Chew on; We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit ~ Aristotle

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...
            • Great day of worship at Whitfield Christian Church today.
            • They have a new worship team and they do a great job leading the congregation in worship.
            • Church is looking into a possible merger, praying they make the right decision.
            • I think Sarasota is one of the most picturesque spots in Florida, Especially when you get around the waterways!
            • Met a possible student for JUFL today. I hope he decides to come to school in January.
            • Today I preached on the life of Jonah.
            • We often hear about Jonah in children's worship or in Sunday school we forget this small book is loaded with practical lessons on accepting a call from God.
            • Two important lessons from today's message, first one cannot run from God and second, God's purposes must take a priority in our life.
            • Next Sunday I am preaching at Englewood Christian Church in Jacksonville for their Homecoming. Really looking forward to being with the church family at Englewood
            • My niece is getting baptized tonight - Oh Happy Day!
            • Came home Friday evening to 6 alumni sitting around my dining room table playing games. One of the joys of working for a university!
            • I am often surprised by what the TV critics call good entertainment.
            • One more thought from this morning's message, Jonah was a prophet for the king of Israel; in other words he had the king's ear, but God did not have Jonah's heart and that is why he was willing to flee from God's call!
            • Something to Chew on; “It’s important to understand that at every point of opposition to who we are or to what God has called us to do, we are presented with the options of either conforming and giving in, or standing our ground and becoming stronger in who God has made us to be” Gabriel Wilson

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped at Avon Park Christian Church this morning. Wonderful time gathering with the church family. I was struck by the number of people who came up and introduced themselves to me.
            • Special thanks to Tammy, the church's administrative assistant, I sent the wrong PPT earlier in the week and she whipped out a new one in 15 minutes - graphics included.
            • The hymn "Turn your eyes upon Jesus" is one of the most comforting hymns I know.
            • How does one know they are growing spiritually? John Ortberg's book, The Me I want to Be, can help answer the question.
            • I am ready for Fall.
            • So appreciative for the people at JUFL who keep our physical plant in shape.
            • I would love to put a blood pressure cuff on Muschamp on Game Day.  His stress level must be off the charts.
            • Something to Chew on; “In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.” ~ Robert Frost

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day....

            • Worshiped at  a Small church in Orange City this morning; Heart of Christ Christian Church.  A group of believers trying to do life together.
            • Nice to only have to travel about an hour from home.
            • I am always amazed how a message on the validity of scripture can have such an impact on people.
            • I fear we have forgotten we were once known as "People of the Book"
            • Was that a long game last night or what? Gators need to be aware no one is a pushover any more!
            • Kathy is on the mend - thank you for all the prayers.
            • I am really impressed with the quality of students on campus this year at JUFL.

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped at FCC Clearwater today. Wonderful time sharing in their "Missions and Me" Missions weekend.
            • Great message on the importance of boldness in the life of a believer.
            • What bold thing have you done lately?
            • The greatest sign of boldness is surrendering one's life to Christ.
            • Good friends are precious to me. We never have enough time to share!
            • Interesting piece of trivia, it took the Florida Gators  3 weeks to score 65 points in 2013. This year they accomplished the 65 in one game. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come!
            • Getting a text from my granddaughter wishing me a Happy Grandparents Day makes me smile!
            • Today my parents celebrate 56 years of marriage - what a great example of love and commitment!
            • Dolphins win - did not see that happening today.
            • With 46 views tonight I will have 21,000 page views on my blog.
            • Mrs. Eubanks' Baked Alaska pie is great!
            • Does anyone remember when it was a big deal to see DC Talk at Night of Joy?
            • Something to Chew on: 2 Timothy 1:7

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped at FCC Orange Park today. I had a two fer! Bible School and Morning Worship.
            • Great challenge from the senior minister today following my message regarding their open youth ministry position - more preachers need to challenge their congregation in the same manner.
            • Today's message "Becoming People of the Second Chance" Easy to to preach, difficult to practice!
            • Question, are today's worship songs becoming tomorrows treasured hymns?
            • All week I looked for ward to some Florida football and then the game is called because of severe weather - patience Alan!
            • Step 1 chemo complete, Step 2, surgery on Wednesday - prayers appreciated.
            • Cancer has changed a lot of things in our family's life, yet if has not weakened our faith. God is with us in the storm!
            • Tomorrow is September 1, hold on, the holidays are a comin'
            • I am sure every generation thought the end was close, but it sure seems like we living out this passage of scripture today.
            • Oh how I wish the Miami Dolphins were relevant again!
            • First week of college is in the books, I have really joyed hearing what our continuing students accomplished over the summer.
            • I believe rest is one of God's great gifts to his children.
            • Watched the emmy's last week, the TV landscape is changing.
            • Something to Chew on; People who use time wisely spend it on activities that advance their overall purpose in life. ~ John C. Maxwell

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped with the church family at North Citrus Christian Church today.
            • Today's topic the purpose of Scripture.
            • It is not enough just to know facts about the Bible, one must understand the message of the Bible.
            • I fear today we have become more focused on facts and figures of scripture rather than discovering the faith that comes from seeking out the message of the Bible.
            • I know we say this every year, but this has to be the hottest summer ever!
            • Next week kicks off the college football season - now everyone sing with me "It's the most wonderful time of the year"
            • Classes start tomorrow at JUFL, Yes the students are back - farewell summer!
            • Watching parents say good bye to their students on move in day is tough.
            • We are 122 days away from Christmas!
            • Today is my 400th Blog post!
            • I am reading John Ortberg's book "The Me I want to Be" great book on personal discipleship. Does not focus on making other disciples, rather focuses on you becoming a disciple - remember you can't teach what you do not know!

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped with the church family at Round Lake Christian this morning.
            • Great time of worship and I loved taking communion as a church family, creative and meaningful.
            • The Round Lake Church truly understands what is happening in our culture as it relates to ministry and they are taking steps to avoid the crisis of the coming preacher shortage - empowering members for ministry.
            • Every week I stand in a pulpit and preach I am reminded there are broken people who need to be made whole.
            • I do not remember where I heard it but someone said, God is in the habit of fixing broken people as long as he has all the pieces. Let's give it all to God, no holding back!
            • Key thought from today's message - Jesus was full of Grace and Truth, we live in a culture that does not want truth, but desperately needs grace.
            • Yes it is only preseason, but at least it is FOOTBALL!
            • If you go see  "The 100 foot Journey" make sure you have lots of popcorn - you will be hungry watching this film.
            • Happy Birthday to my daughter in law, so glad you are a part of our family.
            • Students return Friday, the campus is beginning to see a lot more activity.
            • Who knew there were so many "Shark Shows" during Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. I am thinking some of the sharks are starring in more than 1 episode!

            • Chris did a wonderful job bringing the Message "Be the Church"
            • The church celebrated Chris' 5th anniversary as their student minister. Churches that celebrate ministry milestones understand the value of their staff.
            • Spending time with the family this past weekend reminds me of the blessings we have in our life.
            • What is great about good friends is the fact that even though you have not been with them for several months you can pick up where you left off. Thank You Dave and Linda we value your friendship, more than you will ever know!
            • Savannah always makes me smile!
            • The year is half over, look out the holidays are just around the corner.

            • Understanding one's call gives one a sense of peace when the storms come.
            • Back in the pulpit next week!
            • Something to Chew On;  “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover” ~ Mark Twain

            • Another good day at FCCK this morning. Inspiring worship and message.
            • I wonder what keeps you from a "Whatever it takes" attitude?
            • To be a good leaders means at times you have to be a better follower. This can be difficult if you are always leading.
            • Believe me, 6 hours of landscaping at JUFL leads to one tired person!
            • First wave of students have arrived on campus - lots of excitement around campus.
            • Football is back! Finally
            • Chemo is Over!
            • One lesson I have learned from Cancer is to walk slowly through the crowd for hurting people are all around.
            • Though it tries, darkness will never overcome the light.
            • Rereading the Psalms gives one a fresh perspective on the relationship David had with God.

            • Today's message focused on the church, not the building, not the organization but the church - the people!

            • Martha was distracted by "stuff", however Mary was discerning about the Master.  Which sister describes your life; distracted or discerning?

            • My wife is AMAZINGLY strong.
            • Met with another cancer doc this week - looks like our journey is long; but God is good!
            • Something to chew on; Behind every success is endeavor... behind every endeavor, ability... behind ability, knowledge... behind knowledge, a seeker.

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing...

            • Great day of worship at FCC Kissimmee today, probably one of the most powerful messages on the Resurrection I have ever heard.
            • Choir did a wonderful job as well, lots of energy in today's worship.
            • Here is a song that really impacted me this morning.
            • I am amused by the the people who talk about Good Friday, yet really have no idea why it was so good.
            • If you do not believe we are living in a secular society, just listen to some of the comments about Easter from the media.
            • The good news about living in a secular society is that is exactly what the first century was like and look at how the church transformed that culture - IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN!
            • I hate cancer!
            • It is difficult watching someone you love go through Chemo!
            • Our oncologist is a jewel!
            • I am so thankful for Kathy's army of prayer warriors.
            • I think the worse fate on THIS earth would be facing cancer alone, so blessed by our many friends.
            • This is the last full week for the Seniors at JUFL - wow, I am really going to miss this group of students.

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today, great message on Simon the Cyrene regarding taking up one's cross.
            • Really appreciated the worship this morning.
            • I think the gift of encouragement is one the most fundamental gifts Christians can share with one another.
            • What really matters? You had best figure it out and then forget about everything else.
            • I am amazed at how many lives intersect though the fellowship of the church.
            • I find it funny to watch how politicians posture for position - compare their antics with the actions of Jesus in John 13
            • I know I say it every year, but I really miss preaching this time of the year.
            • Did you notice many college football teams hosted their annual Spring game this past weekend - Almost time!
            • Graduation is only a few weeks away, really gonna miss this group of seniors.
            • Kathy faces her first round of chemo this week, please pray for her.
            • Something to Chew on; You can be a victim of cancer or you can be a survivor of cancer - it's a mindset! ~ David Pelzer

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Great message today from Jim B. at FCC Kissimmee. I have really enjoyed this series on the Tabernacle. Great information as well as great application
            • Had a great time with part of my family visiting this weekend - Savannah is very active.
            • Well the Final Four is set - only 3 games left!
            • Finished the book - "Why we eat our own", this week; why is it people have such a difficult time handling forgiveness?
            • Maybe we have forgotten this passage of scripture.
            • I am beginning to understand why the doctors office calls it a WAITING ROOM.
            • My two favorite prayers from the Bible... Matthew 14:30 and Revelation 22:20
            • So thankful for health insurance!
            • Spring time in Florida is wonderful.
            • More tests this week - Yuck!
            • Sunday afternoon naps are one of the great pleasures of life!
            • Only 4 weeks until a new crop of world changers leave Johnson University Florida.
            • Something to Chew on; Cancer is so limited,  it cannot corrode faith…shatter hope…kill friendships…cripple love … destroy peace…silence courage…suppress memories…conquer the spirit.

            Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee this morning, Special Guest, Dr. Gary Weedman had a great message regarding the Church. Should be required listening for every church leader.
            • Tonight we had an opportunity to hear New Creation at Canoe Creek Christian Church - they did an excellent job.
            • Saturday's Imagine banquet felt a lot like the early years of CFBC, lots of exciting things on the horizon for Johnson University Florida.
            • More test this week for Kathy - please keep praying.
            • March Madness is really crazy this year.
            • T-5 weeks til commencement!
            • I always feel better after a visit from Dave and Linda.
            • Humbled by the many prayer partners we have in our life at this time.
            • Something to Chew on; The world doesn’t need perfect leaders. It needs genuine leaders. Even though you will be tempted to project a persona or wear masks, you will be the best leader when you are being you. Not somebody else. ~ Dave Kraft, Leadership from the Heart

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

            • Worshiped with the First Christian Church of Kissimmee family today - so good to be home!
            • Great worship and sound preaching.
            • I really wonder how people live without a church family.
            • Great thought from today, it is time to have a paradigm shift, quit focusing on how much we can get and start thinking about how much we can give.
            • Finished a book titled; "Why we eat our own" really is a sad commentary on what happens when forgiveness is not extended.
            • The news is not what we wanted to hear, but because of faith, it is news we can handle.
            • Question; what really matters?
            • Well the Gators made it a little nerve racking, but they earned their number 1 seed.
            • Let the Madness begin.
            • This week I celebrate 3 years working at Johnson University Florida, So many changes in 1095 days.
            • Question what changes have happened in your life the past 1095 days.
            • Hey, did you answer that question about what really matters yet?
            • Something to Chew on; Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved. ~ Helen Keller
