Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee again today, challenging message from James, the  student minister.
  • He reminded me why I stayed in youth ministry for 17 years!
  • We must raise up a new generation of men and women for Christ - Eternity is in the balance!
  • Watching teens serve in worship makes me smile.
  • Kind words are a refreshment to my soul.
  • Sometimes I just tear up!
  • Yes, you can be in a room full of people and still feel all alone.
  • Attended a funeral of a dear preacher Saturday. Faithful to the end - well done!
  • Connected with several alums while at the funeral, so good to see so many using their talents for the Lord, may the zeal never cease!
  • Another church in Florida closed this week, the harvest is plentiful, we need more harvesters!
  • I think about Heaven a lot lately.
  • Klondike Bars are the ultimate comfort food.
  • I read this week that Cato from the old Pink Panther movies passed away - I always laughed when Cato and Inspector Clouseau would "train" in martial arts. Kathy did not understand the humor, but I thought it was funny.
  • Here is a great Psalm of David
  • Something to Chew on; All such institutions have one thing in common; the need for bold, visionary leaders at all levels who can discern a different and better future for the organization, no matter its size, and can map a realistic path to attaining that future. ~ Robert Gates, A Passion for Leadership

  1. Hi Alan,
I always enjoy reading your Sunday Night Reflections. You do such a great job of condensing lessons and thoughts from the day into brief statements. It was so good to see you and hear the laughter of a family yesterday. And yes, Klondike Bars are the ultimate food so it makes sense they would be the ultimate comfort food as well. I continue to pray for you and your family as you press on and figure out a chapter of life that no one really wants to have to figure out.
    In prayer,
    Tom Lemler
