A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at South Daytona Christian Church this morning.
  • This morning's topic; Answering the Call!
  • In Luke 19, Zacchaeus was willing to climb a tree to see Jesus, what are you willing to do to see Jesus today?
  • I loved the idea SDCC is using to connect with guests and members via text, this is something we should all be doing!
  • Some good friends of mine told me their son in law was baptized this weekend - love it when the baptismal waters stir!
  • Question is the 70 mph simply a suggestion on I-4? Crazy drivers - Yikes!
  • 26 weekends down, 26 weekends to go, yes the year is half over, how are we doing on the New Year's Resolutions.
  • Tomorrow a third group of people will visit the campus of JUFL for the Event, this has been a busy summer on our campus.
  • I miss little things that I have taken for granted such as the sound of Kathy's hair dryer in the morning.
  • After a week of 90+ temperatures, I have decided we need a lazy river on our campus!
  • Something to Chew on; Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you look back and realize they were the big things.

Sunday Night Reflections

Monday Morning Edition

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at FCC Kissimmee today. Challenge message about living in the spiritual world. It does make a difference how we live.
  • We cannot live just in the physical dimension, for it has pain, heartache and frustration, there is something more to this life.
  • Jim's message regarding the two options when we die was very sobering. What will you hear; well done or depart from me?
  • Yes we can land a man on the moon, but we cannot keep our internet up and going through a thunderstorm.
  • Attended a funeral of a dear saint this past Saturday, faithfulness is a wonderful virtue.
  • Cleveland? Did not see that happening.
  • I am a better man because of my father.
  • Randy Alcorn's book on Heaven is very challenging.
  • My kids did a wonderful job celebrating Father's days.
  • I did miss not opening a card from Kathy, she always wrote wonderful messages in the card.
  • One day at a time.
  • My Savannah is always up to something. I see the signs that say "If I knew Grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first" is not true, Savanna wears me out! Fun Times!
  • Why is it in a disposable society I having such a difficult time getting rid of an old sofa?
  • In my opinion, Klondike ice cream bars are the best.
  • Something to Chew on; You already have heaven's attention, but the question is does heaven have yours? ~ Steven Furtick

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing day.

  • Two opportunities to worship this weekend; first attended worship at Journey Christian is Apopka. Great message on  a very difficult topic; the Wrath of God. Second opportunity was at Union Park Christian Church, Orlando, another great message on the the need to develop godly men.
  • Two churches, two worship styles, two types of buildings, one God glorified!
  • Saw the baptismal waters stir once again,
  • This was a very emotional week for me. Kathy's birthday was Thursday, oh how I miss her.
  • Said good bye to an aging minister this week, he donated his library to the university and to young preachers, he and his wife will be missed in Florida.
  • Ministry transitions can be tough, several friends are closing out or beginning new ministries this week, praying for their transitions!
  • Attended the funeral of veteran today, there is no more haunting tune than TAPS!
  • When the America flag was presented to the family the former solder said this flag is given from a grateful nation, I hope we are all grateful for the sacrifices of our military.
  • Today's events once again is a reminder how fragile is life on earth.
  • These verses comforts me more and more.
  • Are the basketball playoff still going on?
  • #1 lesson one learns from attending a men's prayer breakfast; men love bacon, I think they believe bacon is a food group all by itself.
  • We are only 18 days until July, that means 2016 is almost half over BTW what happen to Y2K.
  • It is that time of the year again, high humidity + cold A/C in the car leads to foggy eyeglasses when get out of your car.
  • Something to Chew on; He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust. ~ Psalm 91:1-2

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at the Christian Church of Moore Haven today.
  • Small crowd but what a great spirit in the church.
  • All Hymns all the time, no screen, no mics, no bulletin, just old time religion!
  • Preached on the authority of God's word, the message really "hits home" with people as they see all other "authority"  crumbling all around them.
  • Found out some good friends are moving to Florida - this is great.
  • Another friend of mine is leaving the sunshine state and headed to the "Show Me" state. It is amazing to me how God has taken his brokenness and given him a new song. Keep preaching Mike!
  • My friend Dave always gives good advice!
  • On the way to Moore Haven I heard the song "I can only imagine" by Mercy Me. Made me wonder what was the first thing Kathy did in heaven - yeah you guessed it I got a little misty eyed.
  • It has been 31 days and it still hurts!
  • First real storm of the season is coming this week, get your umbrella ready it is going to get wet!
  • Spent the day at Disney yesterday, I am amazed at how this corporation continues to give people more than they expected. - Really, Snow in the Frozen Theater, Unbelievable!
  • I find this book very interesting at this season of my life.
  • Here is a verse that will get you excited our future.
  • I have saved every sympathy card our family has received - they are such a comfort!
  • Did anyone see any LOVE BUGS last month - BTW only Floridians will know about Love bugs! Maybe we have finally eradicated the pesky insects.
  • Something to Chew on; We do not remember our days, we remember moments ~ Cesare Pavese
