Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Fort Caroline Christian Church in Jacksonville this morning from Ephesians 4:1-3
  • This morning's topic "Walking worthy of our calling"
  • Since we wear the name Christian should not our walk (lifestyle) be Christlike?
  • I hope they find a good preacher soon, there are a lot of good people in that congregation.
  • Today's music was very powerful. So good to see church members use their talents for God's Kingdom!
  • Wednesday I had lunch with Indiana friends from, wait for it... 30 years ago. Yikes! Where does time go?
  • When did fireworks become a mainstay of the New Year's celebration? What happened to noisemakers, midnight kisses, and confetti?
  • When is it considered tacky to still have your Christmas decorations up? If the decorations are still up at Valentines Day you may need a Christmas intervention.
  • How can it possibly be 8 months, it still seems like yesterday.
  • Attended a Celebration of Life Service for a dear saint yesterday, it is so comforting to know life does not end at the grave!
  • The second semester is just around the corner, let the good times roll!
  • College Football is almost over, March Madness will soon be upon us, get your bracket ready!
  • Tomorrow there is a full slate of college football games on TV and it is also a work day - so glad a former employee had cable installed in my office several years ago! So thankful for small blessings!
  • To my friends up North, I am not missing the snow!
  • Something to Chew on; Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors and let every new year find you a better man. ~ Benjamin Franklin
