Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day

  • I preached at Union Park Christian Church in Orlando this morning.
  • The focus of the message centered on the importance of impacting others for Christ.
  • I looked out in the audience and there was my former OT professor, YIKES!
  • I still get nervous when I see my professors in the audience.
  • I had the opportunity to hear an excellent message tonight from a CFBC alumnus. Mark, you did an excellent job!
  • With the closing of JUFL, I have had some time to do some reflection. I was part of the second class of CFBC. I was truly blessed to be on the ground floor of such an amazing place!
  • We met in borrowed facilities, owned one 15-passenger van, and lived in apartments as a substitute for dorms. Those were the days!
  • Oh, one more thing, I have friendships that have lasted a lifetime!
  • College Football, Finally!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning. Jim preached on one of my favorite topics today; HEAVEN.
  • Jim has been focusing on a series of messages titled "Life is a Classroom", today's topic focused on our Final Exam.
  • Like Paul, I want to pass the final exam and finish well!
  • Oh, the Joy of seeing Jesus Face to Face.
  • Thank you Jim for reminding us this place is not our home!
  • So thankful to hear what is happening in Haiti, India, and Brazil as a result of Luke101 Ministries. Humbled by their work, sacrifice, and gracious spirit.
  • Our Life Group continues our study of Proverbs, last week's lesson Good Words, Question, are you using good words in your conversations with others?
  • I wonder how many Elders, Deacons, Sunday School Teachers, and Youth Ministry volunteers got their biblical foundation at CFBC/FCC/JUFL. That is an impact we will not know until we arrive in heaven.
  • The students are back at JUFL. No matter how you look at it this is going to be a bittersweet year.
  • The college football season is getting closer. Good Stuff!
  • Something to Chew on; Leadership is about vision and responsibility, not power. ~ Seth Berkley

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at the Christian Church at DeLeon Springs this morning.
  • The message focused on one of the unsung heroes of the New Testament, Epaphroditus.
  • Key Lesson; we need more people in the church who have an MBA, not a Master of Business Administration, but rather a Mop Bucket Attitude!
  • Key Lesson #2, Epaphroditus made ripples in the lives of people because he was willing to love people and be a risk-taker for Christ.
  • I always enjoy my time with the folks at DeLeon Springs, and I will miss seeing them after JUFL closes in June.
  • Speaking of Closing JUFl, I continue to be amazed at the kind words I have received from friends of JUFL in Florida. I am blessed!
  • I am looking forward to Winter, I wish it was here now. Wow, it is hot!
  • Our students return Thursday and our Freshmen join them on Friday.
  • Something to Chew on; Making a wrong choice early may limit making the right choice later. ~ James Faust

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • We worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning, Jim's message focused on our most important textbook, The Bible.
  • Key Point #1, The Bible must be the compass that directs the lives of everyone, everywhere.
  • Key Point #2, The Bible is the textbook for all truth.
  • Three more baptisms today!
  • Our LIFE GROUP kicked off our study in Proverbs Friday evening with a study of Proverbs 9 and the choices we must make.
  • School is back in session this week, welcome back to Traffic Madness.
  • Praying for my school teacher friends this week, they are unsung heroes in one of the most important missions field today.
  • Speaking of mission fields currently, there are 24 missionaries or people assisting missionaries stateside who are alumni of CFBC/FCC/JUFL.
  • In the Chapman Center foyer, there are 38 international flags representing the countries our alumni have served in our 48-year history, CFBC/FCC/JUFL has had and will continue to have a global impact.
  • We traveled to Jacksonville this weekend to visit Mom, Good Times!
  • The first round of students move into our apartments at JUFL tomorrow. It will be great to have our students back on campus.
