Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Salt Springs Christian Church this morning.
  • Today's message; Profiting from Problems.
  • How we deal with our problems is determined by how we view God in our life.
  • We have only two options when it comes to dealing with problems. We can become better or we can become bitter.
  • I personally choose to become better!
  • While Salt Springs CC has very few young people in the church family, they pay the full amount for any young person who wants to go to summer church camp, who knows how a young person's life will be impacted by this selfless act of generosity?
  • Saturday night I heard a wonderful message on submission, a topic we seldom hear about in today's world.
  • Rereading a good book this weekend, "God is in Control" by Charles Stanley. I highly recommend it. This is a book that one needs to read slowly and let it "simmer" in your thoughts. Not a book to rush though!
  • Spent a week at Johnson University's Tennessee campus serving in the Senior Saints program. Made a lot of new friends and reconnected with some old friends.
  • So blessed by the relationships I have gained through years of ministry.
  • Ok, let me go over this one more time. The left lane on the highway is for passing, the middle lane is for traveling and the right lane is for slower traffic.
  • I am craving a DQ chocolate dipped cone!
  • So proud of my kids this weekend!
  • Something to Chew on; Everywhere I have sought peace and not found it, except in a corner with a book. ~ Thomas a Kempis

  • Quote from today's message, Preservation is the first law of physical life, but self-sacrifice is the first law of the spiritual life. Warren Weirsbe
  • Here is the video that was played this morning. Very Powerful!
  • Heading to Tennessee this week to be a part of Senior Saints in the Smokies.
  • It is not until your internet goes down that you realize you really depend on it for many of your activities.
  • Maybe it is time to be "unplugged" for a while.
  • Regardless of how many times I see a firework display at Disney, it never gets old. Can you say BOOM!
  • How can it be June ALREADY?
  • I am starting to enjoy Hallmark Movies, please do not judge me!
  • Something to Chew on; Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself. ~ Leo Tolstoy

  • The "CHAIN" visual during worship was very moving.

  • Key thought #2, Every time we participate in the Lord's Supper we are reminded of the love Christ has for us.
  • I love watching our high school students and college-age group lead worship!
  • Spent the weekend with 2 of my children - good times!
  • Tomorrow is Memorial Day, here is an old blog post of mine to remind us why tomorrow is important.

  • Looks like the first tropical storm of the season fizzled out this weekend in Central Florida.
  • Watching the Indy 500 start never gets old.
  • The first Indy 500 took 7 hours to complete, today the race took a little over 3 hours. 500 miles in 3 hours, I can only imagine!
  • Something to Chew on; There is no wrong time to make the right decision. ~ Dalton McGuinty

Sunday Night Reflection

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Zephyr Christian Church this morning on my favorite topic; Grace.
  • Key thought #1, We live in a world that does not want to hear the truth, but so desperately needs grace.
  • Key thought #2 When we choose to dispense grace to others, we are most recognizable by God.
  • Traditional worship this morning, and yes we sang my favorite Hymn - Holy, Holy, Holy. I want that song to be the first song I sing when I get to heaven!
  • Once again we learned the heart can be exceedingly wicked - Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
  • Savannah graduates from VPK this week, How can she be going to kindergarten in August?
  • Why does road construction take so long?
  • I feel for people who have migraines, they can really be debilitating. Hoping for a cure someday.
  • Looks like Florida's rainy season is upon us, what's next? Mosquito Season!
  • Dairy Queen's dipped cones have to be one of life's simple pleasures.
  • The bishop's message at the royal wedding was wonderful. So good to hear such a challenging message regarding married love!
  • Something to Chew on; If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. ~ C. S. Lewis

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at First Baptist Church Orlando this weekend.
  • The message covered the life of Rahab - the message focused on the Legacy we leave our children.
  • Key quote; An inheritance is what we leave TO our children, a legacy is what we leave FOR our children.
  • The life of Rahab teaches all of us, anyone can have a positive legacy if they make the right choices.
  • Spent today with my mom and my brothers and some of their family. A great day together.
  • My special guest enjoyed the day as well, especially the TEST DRIVE!!
  • It is days like today one realizes family time is precious. By the way, DON'T BLINK
  • I know this was a tough day for my children, but I am so proud of them!
  • I had a God moment this week at the mechanic's shop, You never know what a kind word or gesture will mean to a hurting person.
  • BTW there are hurting people all around us, we just need to open our eyes and have an open heart.
  • Something to Chew on; The greatest legacy one can pass on to one's children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one's life, but rather a legacy of character and faith. ~ Billy Graham
