Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Another two-fer weekend, Dave Ramsey Saturday evening at First Baptist Orlando and Jim at Kissimmee Christian Church of Sunday morning.
  • Dave reminded us once again the wisdom of handling our finances correctly.
  • The key lesson from Dave's talk; we gain wealth for one reason so we may be generous to others.
  • Jim challenged us to think about one act can really change one's destiny.
  • Watched the baptismal water stir once again, believe me, that never gets old. Especially when you watch a father baptize his adult son!
  • Some worship songs are so powerful that at times I can't sing, I just listen to the words and say Amen!
  • One of my favorite churches celebrated 50 years of ministry. They have had ups and downs over the past fifty years, yet they have been faithful and God has used them to reach a part of Jacksonville and missions around the world.
  • Heading to Tennessee this week for a celebration of Johnson University's 7th president.
  • Also, it will be great to connect with some of my Tennessee friends.
  • Who knew the Dolphins would be in first place?
  • Rereading a great book by Greg Pruett, Extreme Prayer. A line from the back cover; it is not about praying more, it is about praying differently.
  • It can be difficult to stay on a diet when you have a piece of rhubarb pie and vanilla ice cream, but it is oh so good!
  • The leadership vacuum in our culture is frightening.
  • I imagine heaven will not have email, and that will be wonderful.
  • Something to Chew on; If you can give a child just one gift, let it be enthusiasm. ~ Bruce Barton
