Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at First Christian Church of Cocoa Beach this morning.
  • Message from the life of Jonah. Truth be told, there is a little bit of Jonah in all of us!
  • There is something comforting about singing old hymns.
  • The drive over the causeway is so peaceful. I think my blood pressure dropped 10 points just being by the beach.
  • I also heard a wonderful message from the first chapter of Revelation today, the message was right in my wheelhouse as the message focused on a favorite topic of mine; history.
  • Our small group is going through the book, When the Game is over, it all goes Back in the Box, by John Ortberg. this weeks lesson; "How do you keep score?" This is a very probing question.
  • The first week of vacation is in the books, really has been a restful time.
  • Attended the Applause Awards Saturday evening. It is amazing the amount of Theater in the Arts talent in Central Florida.
  • When you consider all the performances last night were by high school students it was even more amazing.
  • Did we skip June and July and go straight to August - wow, it is hot!
  • A Simple Pleasure - Having access to a Swimming Pool! Yes!
  • Something to Chew On; The account of Jonah is not a story of a man refusing to do God's will, but the account of God who is willing pursue us so we may do His will. ~ From Today's Message
