  • Key point #1, we must see people as Jesus saw people.
  • Key point #2, When it came to relationships, Jesus never saw obstacles, only opportunities.
  • It was great to see so many good friends at church today.
  • Several of my friends have had serious medical procedures this past week, I am so thankful God created us with the skills and abilities to restore our bodies back to health.
  • There were multiple road trips this Thanksgiving Weekend a total of 727 miles in 4 days. Thankfully I am used to being a Road Warrior!
  • It has been a very difficult College Football season for this fan, but Saturday could not have ended any better. Wins, Overtimes, and Upsets, what a great day of college football.
  • There are only 2 weeks of instruction left in this semester at JUFL. I am assuming the library will be crowded and the cafe will be empty this week. Good Luck Students! Finals are just around the corner!
  • A friend sent me a picture of the snow in Michigan this weekend - Winter in Florida is so delightful!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I attended worship at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning. Jim's message focused on the subject of Unity.
  • Great message focusing on the importance of unity as it relates to a healthy church.
  • His explanation on the Spiritual Gifts was spot on! Thank you Jim for preaching the whole counsel of God.
  • I know worship is not about me, but today's worship set was very moving; Thank you, Tony!
  • This morning I had the opportunity to teach an Adult Bible School Class. It has been a while since I taught a class. The lesson focused on Revelation 19 and the Marriage Feast of the Lamb.
  • One of the key points of the text, In Genesis 2, God ordained the first marriage and in Revelation, God orchestrated the last marriage.
  • As a discussion starter, I asked the class to tell about memorable wedding ceremonies they had attended. Time does not allow me to share, but we heard about a bride with a black eye,  an Elvis impersonator singing, and ministers knocking over candelabras. Needless to say, weddings can be memorable.
  • Well, if you told me my team would be coach-less by Thanksgiving, I would have never believed it. Looks like we are looking for a fresh start.
  • When your adult children buy your lunch when they visit, you realize they are not kids any longer!
  • Twenty-three students returned from ICOM today, looking forward to hearing their stories. Praying some of the students are called to mission work.
  • I am at the age where Black Friday is no longer appealing! Contentment is a blessing!
  • Something to Chew; Whatever course you decide upon there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to the end requires... COURAGE. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim preached a message on God's gift to us - GRACE!
  • Jim did a great job explaining the concepts of Grace and Works from the epistles of Ephesians and James. Well Done!
  • Our Life Group is studying the life of the 12 disciples. It is fascinating to learn how this group of ordinary men turned the world upside down.
  • While we are very familiar with the big 3 (Peter, James, and John) it is interesting to learn how the rest of the 12 took the gospel to the ends of the earth.
  • Celebrated Savannah's birthday Saturday. I cannot believe she is 9 years old. Time is flying by!
  • Attended a church picnic this weekend, it was so good to connect with so many good friends. I am truly blessed by the many people I call friends!
  • Friends in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana shared pics with me today of the snow falling. And so it begins! Stay warm my friends.
  • Speaking of cold tonight's low is 51, this is getting very close to my threshold of buying hot chocolate in the morning.
  • We have two van loads of college students attending the International Conference on Mission this week. Please pray for their safety as they travel to and from Richmond VA, and pray many of them will answer the call to consider mission work as a calling and a vocation.
  • In the small world department; I discovered a recent graduate from JUFL is serving with people I served in youth ministry with 37 years ago.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Vero Christian Church this morning. Steve kicked off a new series from the book of Jonah. Great message as Steve gave us something to think about regarding Jonah's stay in the belly of the fish.
  • I always appreciate a good scriptural based message. Steve always delivers!
  • Following my trip to Vero, I met my kids for lunch at Texas Roadhouse as we celebrated my oldest son's birthday. Another casualty of COVID - No peanuts prior to lunch!
  • I took a quick trip to Orange Park Friday to visit my mom. It seems like every visit to Jax/Orange Park takes longer than the trip before. Traffic seems to grow worse EVERY trip!
  • Last week I said it was time to wait until next year for the College Football season, however, yesterday was embarrassing. You are a 20 point favorite and you lose by 30! Ouch!
  • However, here is a bright spot in College Football, this young man has character and understands the value and meaning of tradition.
  • Only one more road trip for 2021 representing JUFL. I am ready to take a break from looking through a windshield on Sundays!
  • Disney's new fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom is pretty amazing.
  • White Fudge Oreos have been located, purchased, and placed in the freezer! Good Times.

  • Yep, it is time to pick up a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich!
  • November is here and that means some vacation time is right around the corner.
  • Good News, we gain an hour this Saturday night. Bad News, it will be dark at 6:00 in the evening.
  • As for College Football, I guess it is time to say, "There is always next year."
  • Something to Chew on; Without fear, there can be no courage. ~ Christopher Paolini

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at New Beginnings Christian Church in Tampa this morning as I was representing JUFL at their annual Faith Promise weekend.
  • Challenging message from their senior minister from 1 Peter 4.
  • The church's commitment to reach the lost is very evident as they are reaching out to people with special needs as well as people far from God.
  • Key thought, Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people, Hell is a prepared place for unprepared people.
  • Met several Johnson University alumni today, so good to reconnect with our alums.
  • I celebrated mom's birthday yesterday in Orange Park, it is always a good time when my brothers and I get together.
  • Reading through the book of Isaiah this week I came across this scriptural truth
  • Big game this weekend ahead, let's just hope the Gators do not embarrass themselves.
  • Seriously, Who knew we would experience a shaving cream shortage.
  • All I can say is if there is a shortage of White Chocolate Oreos this Christmas someone is going to be in trouble!
  • October is almost over, Did we not just celebrate Groundhog day last month?
  • Something to Chew on; Don't live the same year 75 times and call it a life. ~ Robin Sharma

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Ocala Christian Church this morning.
  • This morning's message was titled; What Jesus would NOT do. Jesus would not avoid a dirty job.
  • Key points for the message, there are two ways one can show the full extent of love to someone, Stoop down to serve and lift them up to introduce them to Jesus.
  • I have visited Ocala Christian Church three times this year and each time I am impressed with their love for Jesus and their heart for worship.
  • Today was a day of mixed emotions, first I heard of a friend who rejoiced with 3 baptisms at the church he serves this morning, yep the baptismal waters stirred once again, but I was also reminded COVID is still with us as I received news a dear family has lost a son and mother in the past 3 weeks.
  • Longing for Heaven today!
  • I spent the week with several people from the Tennessee campus this week. Informative, inspiring, and at times tiring! But it was all good!
  • Observation from a weekend of football; Watching the Gators and Dolphins was painful this weekend.
  • We get a chance to experience Florida Fall this week, say it with me AHHHHHHHHH!
  • I am looking forward to November when every day is Florida Fall!
  • Senior discounts are great!
  • I wish google translate could translate Chihuahua!
  • Something to Chew on; Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen. ~ Winston Churchill

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim preached a message focusing on the cure from fractured race relations in America.
  • A very powerful message using the book of Acts as the example of how God desires us to have Racial harmony.
  • Key Scriptures from today's message; Acts 6, Acts 8, Acts 10, and my personal favorite; Revelation 7.
  • Oh for the day when Revelation 7:9-12 becomes a reality!
  • We are studying the book "Twelve Ordinary Men" in our life group. It is amazing to see how the 12 disciples were able to step out in faith and change the world through the preaching of the gospel.
  • Speaking of Life Group, we were introduced to Extreme Ironing last Friday evening. You really need to google Extreme Ironing, it is amazing what people will do to entertain themselves!
  • While I enjoy the modern worship songs, I have to admit the theology in many of our hymns is truly inspiring. Today we sang "The Church is One Foundation" an old hymn packed with Biblical truth.
  • These late-night college football games are really disrupting my sleep patterns.
  • One of the casualties of a selfish society is bad driving habits. It is amazing how many people think they are the only ones on the road and they can do what they want when it comes to driving.
  • I thought about dressing up like a politician for Halloween, but that would be TOO scary!
  • Something to Chew on; Unless a man undertakes more than he can possibly do, he will never do all that he can. ~ Henry Drummond

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Lance preached a message from Acts 1 on the topic of the Ascension of Christ. I do not recall ever hearing a message of Christ's Ascension. Lance did a wonderful job handling a topic we seldom hear from our pulpits!
  • I know it is only October 3rd, but I am already in a Christmas frame of mind!
  • Saturday started out so well, then the Gators attempted to play a game. Ouch!
  • Talking with my kids tonight, we are already discussing Thanksgiving plans, this year is passing by quickly.
  • If you have a close family, you are truly blessed!
  • Many of the Johnson University Tennessee Advancement team will be vising the next few weeks, time to show them some Florida hospitality and our wonderful Fall weather!
  • I used to be a "Night Owl" now I am lucky to make it to 10:30! The times, they are a-changin'.
  • Tonight's football game should be a good one as we watch the GOAT's old team play his new team - Something has to give!
  • If you are not reading anything by Michael Hyatt, you are missing out on a great resource for living with a focused purpose.
  • Something to Chew on; He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life. ~ Muhammed Ali

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at First Christian Church of Frostproof this morning.
  • The message focused on fulfilling the mission of Christ by Seeking and Saving the lost.
  • The key point from the morning's message is fulfilling the mission of Christ does not take special talent, resources, or a special skill. It simply takes time to stop and care for people who have a need.
  • Arrived early for my visit, when you are the first person to arrive at church it makes you wonder if you got the times right, fear not, everyone showed up about 15 minutes after I arrived.
  • Today I had an eighty-year-old man ask me if it was too late to go to JUFL, I think he was pulling my leg, but I told him it is never too later. Can you imagine an eighty-year-old man living in the apartments with 19-year-old students at JUFL!
  • I only have 3 more church visits on my calendar for 2021. I am looking forward to taking a break from the road.
  • Speaking of travel, don't look now, September is in the rearview mirror and October is the next exit!
  • in my opinion, Saturdays are better with College Football!
  • We are 89 days away from Christmas which means we are 69 days away from White Chocolate Oreos, O' Happy Day!
  • Something to Chew on; Fear is a reaction, Courage is a decision. ~ Anonymous

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Vero Christian Church this morning.
  • Vero Christian Church is a wonderful friend to JUFL, there are many people who attend VCC who I count as friends as well!
  • I always enjoy my time with these fine people.
  • Vero has 3 services, there is good and bad about preaching three times on Sunday; Good, you pretty much have your sermon down by the third hour, bad, your voice is shot by the third hour. My hat is off to guys who preaching multiple times every Sunday.
  • Visited my mom's old house for the last time Saturday, Mom and Dad lived there for over 30 years, there are a lot of memories in that house. Mom is transitioning to a new place, a home for new memories!
  • I took part in a funeral Friday and again I am so thankful for heaven. Yes, there will be a day!
  • I was able to see many of the students who were part of my children's ministry when I served FCC Orlando at the funeral. Wow, they have all grown up!
  • A Funeral on Friday, A Move on Saturday, and Preaching 3 times on Sunday. I am going to need some downtime this week.
  • 35-0, might want to put a hold on those playoff tickets!
  • The last 40 seconds of the UCF/Louisville game were amazing, and that is why you watch the game all the way to THE END!
  • Something to Chew on; Don't be afraid of your fears. They are there to let you know that something is worth it. ~ C. JoyBell C.

  • The young man giving the communion mediation this morning truly pointed us to Jesus and His sacrifice.
  • Ocala Christian Church has moved into their new building last week, so I was privileged to preach on their second Sunday in their new place. They have a great location and God has blessed them with a great facility to reach Marion County for Christ.
  • I attended a great minister's meeting this past Thursday, so good to connect with so many long-time friends.
  • I am attending a funeral and assisting in another funeral this week. So thankful for Heaven.
  • The 9/11 remembrance this weekend has been very moving.
  • My daughter Bethany was home for the weekend - Good Times!

  • I am so happy there are people reminding me my car warranty is expiring! They must really care for me!
  • Something to Chew on: The unique challenge of leadership is making today work for tomorrow, especially when today seems to threaten that there will not be a tomorrow. But the only way there will not be a tomorrow is if we give in to the fear today. ~ John Maxwell

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • Jim preached on the importance of the Lord's Supper
  • Great message on why the Lord's Supper is so pivotal to our faith.
  • The key thought to the message, the Lord Supper looks back as well as forward as a proclamation of our Lord's return.
  • Our life group started a new study this week - "12 Ordinary Men", a study of the 12 disciples. I am looking forward to this new study.
  • Congratulations to Ocala Christian Church as they moved into their new location today! God has honored their faithfulness.
  • Here are some comforting words for today; Do not be anxious for anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. Philippians 4:6
  • Jeremy's song "There will be a day" Has been very encouraging this week, you can hear the song here.
  • I know I am late to the show, but I have been connecting to some podcasts this last month that have been both entertaining and informative.
  • Last Saturday's to-do list, Watch College Game Day (Check), Watch Football Games (Check) Sounds like a perfect Saturday to me!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Union Park Christian Church in Orlando this morning.
  • The message focuses on the life of Zaccheus.
  • Key thought #1, Jesus seeks those who seek Him
  • Key thought #2, Jesus' encounter with Zaccheus transformed a man, impacted a community, and gave all of us an example of the life change that occurs when one seeks Jesus.
  • I had a wonderful time connecting with a dear friend today, we go back over 40 years.
  • Spent the weekend helping mom make a huge transition in her life. Prayers appreciated.
  • BTW I think the governor should proclaim  I-295 as the Offical State Race Track. #driveitlikeyoustoleit
  • Dinner with Jonathan and Megan tonight. Good times!
  • I received word this morning, three of my nephews were baptized today. O Happy Day!
  • College Football is back!
  • Note to self, having a Garage Sale in August is not a good idea! Unless it can be held poolside!
  • The first week of school is in the books at JUFL, so good to see our continuing students return.
  • Something to Chew on; There are many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater. But sometimes it does not! Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life. ~ Veronica Roth

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning. Mike Chambers brought a powerful message on the subject of love.
  • I had not heard Mike preach in a long time, his message reminded me how blessed we were to have him as one of our professors.
  • His closing asking all of us to be a 21st century Nicodemus was spot on.
  • The baptismal waters stirred once again this morning, this never gets old.
  • Our life group started a new study last week looking at the lives of the 12 disciples.
  • We have learned so far, they were not saints, scholars, nor were they religious sages, but through Jesus' training and touch, they changed the world.
  • JUFL students have returned, tomorrow is the first day of class, yep, we are 17 weeks away from Winter Break.
  • RANT ALERT: Showing the football game on a tape delay is so lame. A football game is meant to be seen live. BTW it does not help when the guide says the game is on and you run a ticker stating you can watch the game tomorrow. RANT OVER!
  • Now I know why White Frosted Oreos are available only at Christmas time; It is too hot to eat the cookies in August, today's temp was 95 with a heat index in triple digits. The white fudge would melt away. However, an Oreo Milkshake hits the spot!  I have first-hand knowledge of this fact!
  • Congratulations to my friend Luke, today he hit his first hole-in-one on the golf course.
  • Who knew you get a car warranty on a car that is 20 years old? #quitcallingme!
  • Something to Chew on; Courage, sacrifice, determination, commitment, toughness, heart, talent, guts. That is what little girls are made of; the heck with sugar and spice. ~ Bethany Hamilton, Soul Surfer: A true story of Faith, Family and Fighting to Get back on the Board.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Preached at Ocala Christian Church this morning. OCC is a wonderful fellowship of believers. I always enjoy my time visiting the church.
  • They are just a few days from moving into their new building, all of the praying, working, and giving is about to pay off. It will be exciting to see how God uses their new facilities to reach Ocala and the surrounding area with the love of Jesus.
  • I have been spending a lot of time this summer studying key leadership principles and how they relate to the local church.
  • The #1 item I have discovered is leadership is the key to a successful organization. Show me a thriving organization and I will show you men and women who understand leadership principles and are carrying them out.
  • All of our upperclassmen return to FCC on Thursday and our freshmen arrive on Friday. Let the school year begin!
  • To the incoming freshmen, I give you the same challenge Doc Smith gave us from the book of Joshua 44 years ago, be strong and courageous.
  • I get nostalgic this time of year, 44 years ago I arrived at Central Florida Bible College. As a result, I have had many opportunities to laugh, cry, win, lose, and grow. So thankful for the men who encouraged me to consider CFBC, I have never regretted it.
  • I do not mean to brag, but I am becoming a pretty good cook. You should try my chicken salad!
  • Mom is moving out of the house she lived in for 30 years this week, lots of changes in her life, so thankful she is able to find a place that will bring her great joy.
  • Something to Chew on; The Importance of courage, Courage gives you the ability to put aside your fear of failure and take the first steps. Courage helps you overcome your fear of rejection and engage your stockholders.  Courage allows you to attempt things that you have not tried before, despite your fear of looking foolish.

  • The message was from John 4, and focused on what Jesus would NOT do!
  • What would Jesus NOT do? He would not miss an opportunity!

  • On the way home, I stopped at First Christian Church Wauchula and connected with the church staff. They are doing a wonderful job reaching their community.

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • I preached at Southside Christian Church in Sarasota this morning.
  • I heard two of the most meaningful meditations this morning prior to the taking of communion and the receiving of the offering. Both men spoke eloquently deeply regarding the reason we take communion and receiving of the offering.
  • Wonderful time with some great people.
  • One of my favorite things to do when traveling for the University is to join people for lunch following worship. When they ask me where would like to go, I have one response; "Take me where the locales eat." In 10 years I have yet to be disappointed and I can say the same today, Great Food, Good Company, and a Wonderful Restaurant!
  • I am starting a petition to change the name of the I-4 interstate to the I-4 parking lot, seriously where are all these people coming from?
  • Big news in our family, one niece had a baby last week and one niece is getting married this week. Fun times celebrating these big events!
  • Our summer recruiting teams are wrapping up their trips and will be returning home in a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to hearing the stories of their summer experience.
  • I have been spending time in the book of 2 Kings lately, once again I am reminded how leadership makes a difference in culture.  I am also amazed at the patience God has for His people.
  • Something to Chew on; Courage does not always roar, sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day whispering "I will try again tomorrow." ~ Mary Anne Radmacher

  • I had a great time reconnecting with some really good friends.  I am truly blessed to have so many friends around the state of Florida.

  • Key Point from the message; once we see obstacles before us as opportunities. We are then able to move out of our comfort zones!
  • Four years ago today I had my last meaningful conversation with my father, from then on his dementia took over and we were never able to have a good conversation again. I would really like to relive that conversation today, I really miss his wisdom!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Today I preached at Salt Springs Christian Church finishing up the mini-series, "What Jesus would Not Do!"
  • What would Jesus not do? He would not avoid a dirty job.
  • Key Point # 1 - The Full Extent of love is found in serving others.
  • Key Point # 2 - Serving others has no limits.
  • Some of the most gracious people I know, live in Salt Springs.
  • BTW I don't think I have ever seen so many fishing boats in one place as I did today. In the words of one gentleman I spoke with today, "We likes our fishin."
  • I used 2 different GPS apps to get to and from Salt Springs today; 2 different Apps, two different sets of directions, go figure.
  • My neighbors just purchased a Macaw. When it squawks we all know it. Oh, the joys of living in Florida!
  • Our Friday Night Life Group wrapped up a study on Joseph this past Friday evening, a great study on the providential care of God in our lives.
  • I think this Memorial Day weekend everyone is in Florida!
  • Movie theaters are opening up again, time to head to the theaters and buy some overpriced popcorn.
  • Attended a birthday party of a one-year-old Saturday, a good time was had by all, especially when Leo "attacked" his special cake.

  • The Tennessee mountains really lower your blood pressure. #stressfreelife
  • I normally fly a different airline, but I must admit Delta far exceeds all others in customer service!

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning.
  • The church celebrated the 10th anniversary of Jim's ministry.
  • Great day of worship and celebration.
  • Churches that celebrate ministry milestones are a great example of giving honor to whom honor is due.
  • On a personal note, Jim, thank you for being my minister. You have walked with me through some very difficult times.
  • The key point of today's message; We must put off the religiosity of the Pharisees and focus on the righteousness of God. This is only made possible by the Holy Spirit living in our lives.
  • Closing out the service with the children's choir from Kissimmee Christian Academy was a great way to draw the worship service to a close today.
  • I try to live by Philippians 2:14, but Walmart you really make it difficult!
  • Our annual Advancement retreat is this week, I am looking forward to connecting with our team.
  • I connected with some friends of JUFL this week, their life story is absolutely amazing. You really do not know a person until you sit across a dinner table with them and just listen.

  • Worshiped at Orange Park Christian Church this morning.
  • Great time celebrating Mother's Day with my mom and two brothers.
  • Days like today are very precious to me.
  • Jim's admonition on showing agape love is a good reminder that any Sunday someone may make a decision regarding eternity. May our actions always speak louder than our words!
  • Jim's message focused on what happens to a believer once they die, so glad we have "hope after the hearse!"
  • Are there any more comforting words than; to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!
  • We held our 42nd commencement Friday afternoon, congratulations class of 2021. Now go change the world for Christ, remember Eternity is in the balance!

  • There are friends and then there are friends who will dog sit for you while you are away. So thankful for Suzy, who watched Lily while I was away.
  • Just in case you are wondering, the population in Columbiana Ohio is 6,000 and the traffic is non-existent - it is almost heaven.
  • Something to Chew on; It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare. ~ Mark Twain

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • It was a two-fer worship this morning. First I attended  Kissimmee Christian Church and then I attended Encounter Christian Church, the new church plant in Kissimmee.
  • Jim had a very practical message on the reason and the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. One of the highlights of the message was when Jim shared the Haitian Church at Kissimmee has 12 baptisms yesterday!
  • Always good news when we hear about the waters stirring via baptism!
  • Pastor G, challenge the church at Encounter to seize the vision God gives you.
  • Both messages were very practical and applicable for today.
  • I read a great book this week, "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek. I read the book in two days. The book is very challenging and a must-read if you are going to lead yourself and others!
  • I was interviewed for a podcast last week, a first for me!
  • Watching old Disney movies is very comforting and reminds me of a time when life seemed so simple, but did they have to shoot Ol' Yeller?

  • It exciting to be at the inaugural worship service this morning.
  • Pastor G and his team are very serious about reaching greater Kissimmee for Christ!
  • Our Life Group is studying the life of the Old Testament man Joseph on Friday nights. His life is very familiar to all in attendance. I hope we are learning something new about this man of God. as the group leader, I know I am learning new things in his life as we study.
  • I spent yesterday at Epcot seeing the attractions my kids think are boring. Good Times. BTW, a Mikey Ice Cream sandwich tastes so good!
  • It was 80 degrees yesterday at the park, listening to people from "up north" complaining about the heat was comical - they should be here in August.
  • I wish our movie theater would reopen, our local theater closed back in April 2020, I have wisely put back enough money over the past year I can afford to purchase a large popcorn!
  • I read an article this week 950 people are moving to Florida every day. Judging by the increased traffic, I think 800 of the 950 are moving to Kissimmee every day!
  • Something to Chew on; "Whatever course you decide upon there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to the end requires courage." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sunday Night Reflections

A Few Thoughts from an Amazing Day...

  • Worshiped at Kissimmee Christian Church this morning. Jim's message focused on Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone! Great message.
  • While we see it every day, we have to ask ourselves, "Why would people reject the One who offers forgiveness of our sins and provides us the destiny of hope?"
  • Our somber Good Friday service was a reminder of the great love God has for us and the steps He was willing to take to reconcile us to Him.
  • Watched the baptismal waters stir once again, believe me, this never gets old!
  • I really miss preaching on Ressurection Sunday. Not because of the crowd, but because of the message - HE IS ALIVE!

  • I was able to briefly reconnect with some old friends following worship this morning. Has it really been 23 years since we served on the same ministry team?
  • I was able to witness a servant in action when I arrived for worship this morning. Serving with gladness when no one sees you is the true mark of servanthood.

  • I was able to spend time with all 3 of my kids this week - Oh the joy!
